Night Vision Scope and Recoil

I am thinking about a lower end ATN for hog hunting under 100 due to my pigs becoming light sensitive. My big question is cold they handle the recoil of a slug gun. Since range
Is limited I wouldn't need the highest power slugs made so that might save on the recoil end.

Doubtfully. Call the company and ask, but I'm pretty sure they'll say it won't handle it. As with anything, you get what you buy. ATN doesn't get the greatest reviews either. Go on a night vision forum and search "ATN" and you'll be surprised what you find...

Most NV isn't rated for much recoil. Seems like everything I see is rated for 6.8spc or under for recoil, unless you start getting into PVS22/24's, but those are VERY $$$.

I found a lot of good reviews on the ATN 350 and the 390. From what I think I have read is that for my 100yd and in purpose they should work pretty good. We can only hog hunt at night as nighttime predator hunting in NC as of now is a no-no. All of my hog hunting is over feeders and like I said a distances less than 100yds. Would like a N550 but right now $1300+ isn't feasible.

ITT basically limits their Gen 3 Pinnacle tubes to no larger than a .223 which basically has no recoil. We've used as high as a 270 with 90 grain loads on our MX-160 signature series scopes without any problems. While we do not limit our scopes to specified calibers I would be hesitant to put one on a shotgun. I suggest you go with a hands free monocular goggle setup and use a laser sight on your shotgun for close range shoting.
