Ok, this is for calling in predators in NE, mostly coyotes and coons. Which is better? I have alot open country and am wanting to do night calling. Never used either one. Not worried about price just wanting user opinions! Going on a bolt action rifle. Thanks, HAPPY HOLIDAYS and as always HAPPY HUNTING!!!!

If money is not an object then get both thermal and NV. Thermal makes spotting so much easier as the heat signature will not lie. NV makes ID easier once the animal is located. Some have excellent success shooting with thermal as well, but in some areas could be iffy for exact ID.

Which is better depends on a few things. What is the typical distance you expect to shoot? Is it going to be open land or is there brush, tall grass, etc? I've gone through a few different setups the last couple years, but scanning with thermal and shooting with a night vision scope is where I'm at now. It's the most effective method for me so far. I just picked up a thermal scope also to be used by a second shooter or only if I'm in a spot solo that I am very confident there won't be any yard dogs or hunting dogs popping up.
