The MOAR has floating crosshairs which to me center up better then the older verision... The BIG advantage is the 1MOA stadia for the windager v/s the 2MOA windage on the NPR. Never really understood why that was...

I'm curious about what the popular opinion is about putting this scope onto an AR platform with a 16inch barrel. Too much optic for the gun? I'm going to set it up this weekend and try it out.

I'm sure you'll get lots of opinions on if it's too much for 16" AR. We all have our preferred way of doing things.

But if I read the intended use of this scope to be for hunting coyotes/deer/antelope, any scope that's 15" or so and weighs two pounds is not a scope I want on a hunting rifle. Again, for my style, it's not what I prefer. I have a few two pound 56mm scopes on rifles in my safe however, these are on my range rigs and not rifles I hunt with.

You and others may love that scope on a 16" AR, but for me and my style of hunting I want something that weighs a little less and the turrets are not tall and a little more on the sleek side.

But hey if we all liked the same thing, it would be boring. You have a good scope and I"m sure it will suit you well

Good luck

Thanks Buster,

Weight is definitely an issue. When I coyote hunt I rarely walk more than 500 yards from the Polaris. Most times much much less than that (that brings up another good question, how far do you guys go from your vehicle before you set up the stand?). I was born with a severe astigmatism and need an optic with exceptional light gathering capability. So unless it's the middle of the day I need the +50mm objectives or everything is just a little too hazy. The NXS I just bought will only be on the AR until I can pick up something in 3-10x50mm. Then the NXS will go to the bolt gun where it belongs.

Thanks,

Ron
