Nightforce Rings

I just bought a Nightforce NXS 8-32X56 to put on my 6MM AI. It will be mounted to a Bat actioned picatinny rail. My question is, what rings should I get? Nightforce has the lightweight rings, steel rings, and the one piece unit made to make swapping rifles a lil easier. I have never bought Nightforce rings, so those of you that have experience, I'd love to hear from you. Thanks!!

The very first "tactical" rings and bases I bought were Seekins Precision. I've got about 6 sets now, and I've never seen any reason to change.
I've swapped around at least 6 different Nightforce and Zeiss scopes in those bases and rings. I've never had one to slip, and I've never put a scratch or ring mark on any of them.

And, welcome to PM.

yes welcome to PM, very significant 1st post pertaining to the beautiful 8-32X56 NXS, what reticle you runnin on this piece??? i've had all the NF rings you mentioned, the light weight rings have the Ti jaw, crossbolt and nut and those are what i've been using lately when i don't use BO rings... i also like the NF unimount, has the 20MOA cant and its hard to beat a one piece mount, but i only run it on my AR-10...

Thanks for the welcome and your thoughts on the subject. Any opinions from someone who has Nightforce rings and do you like/dislike them?

Skinney, sorry we posted at the same time. I've got the NP R2 reticle. It will be on my new 6MM AI built by Tommy Shurley. It is a Bat actioned Krieger 1:13 twist in a 27" barrel designed to smoke the 75 grain VMAX approaching 4000 FPS. Cant wait for the coyote killing to begin! LOL

Ok so I've already got 20 MOA built into the picatinny rail, so dont think I need any more MOA adjustment. So should I try the lightweight rings? My gun certainly is not light, but I dont want it to get too much heavier.

good choice of reticle buddy, i'm running the NP-R2 on two of my NXS's, steel are gonna be heavier duty than the lightweight alloy rings, BUT you'll be good to go with either steel or the lightweight rings.

Just because you bought a NF scope doesnt mean you have to run their rings. I have NF 5.5-22's on all my rifles and I use Seekins Rings and Badger rings. Nothing wrong with NF, just saying take a look at a set of Seekins rings. They are very very nice, lightweight as well.

Thanks for all the info/input guys. I'm kinda eyeballing the Nightforce lightweight rings which they claim are stronger than their steel rings.

i have 3 sets on the alloy NF rings and ive never had a problem with them, if you look around there are usually some in the for sale section on this and couple diff boards around
