Nightforce vs. Leupold Mark 4

have 4 NXS scopes,...2 replaced MK IV's, never looked back. The NXS is to my eyes, brighter and sharper than the leupy MK IV.

as to any question about reticle brightness,..the cap comes off and there is a rheostat in the turret to dial down the brightness. Most scopes don't offer that option.
 
Unlike their bigger bros, all of the NXS compact series have an exposed rheostat for the lit reticle on the left side, in lieu of the AO knob. Much more versatile for hunting applications...
 
I have S&B, Leupold, NXS among several cheaper scopes. For the money, I don't think you can go wrong with Leupold with the main reason being customer service that comes with their lifetime warranty....Damage a S&B and you'll find out what it's like to get one fixed from a price standpoint. For 99% of the folks out there (me included), I don't think it's easy to say one will truly perform better than the other in the field. In a military scenario, it may be another issue.

The bigger issue of why I went with NXS and S&B over Leupold is to match the turrets up with the same measurement in the reticle. Converting MOA to MIL just plain sucks for longer shots. Either go MIL/MIL or MOA/MOA...Leupold doesn't offer .1 mil turrets.

I like 1/4 MOA elevation adjustments, I was just looking at the MK4 TMR has 1 MOA elevation adjustments - not sure if that is worth fussing over, but in my little mind it is an "issue". I want 1/4 moa elevation adjustments.

Just my two bits.

I too feel like i own stock in Nightforce....I have 8 of their scopes..... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
