I vote Mil dot

I also shoot paper and do some plinking with the AR and the circles just aren't exact enough to suit me. The mil dot system is great and has a very small learning curve, at least in hunting aplications. If you buy a Nikon, there is a coupon in the box to send in for a free Mil dot dope sheet

My Son and I both got the Nikons from Midway USA he went with the Mil Dot and I went with BDC. I think the Mil Dot is better You can still use the Nikon Spot On web sight to figure ballistics on either scope. Love the Spot On really big aid in sighting in.

I had the exact scope with a mil dot, Worked good. Only thing that bugged me was the 8th min clicks. But if you plan to zero and then just use hold overs its a good scope

I have one with the target dog reticle and I love it! As far as the bdc I was never a fan. Have one on my 243 deer gun. I just use it as normal cross hairs and ignore the BDC part. To much crap going on in the scope IMO

Price out an Elite 4200 mildot, my attitude is that if you are looking at 6x on the bottom end you may as well have 24x on the top, I use mine at 24x all the time glassing rocks and hard to see in terrain.

I had to scope over 20 rifles in a couple of month period so I was getting really good package deal prices from FOX Optics. I used it as a chance to try several good scopes to see which I liked the best. I have a Nikon 6-18x on my CZ HM2, the field of view and night time light transmission IMO are both better on the Elite 4200's.

Call Fox Optics, he'll hook you up with the 4200 for roughly what the Nikon is, you'll never regret that.

I like the Nikon I have one on my .204. It is the BDC I just use the crosshairs and dont pay attention to the BDC.
