Nikon customer service SUCKS!!!!!!!

Lyote,
We spoke about that a long time ago, I offered my assistance but you didn't know how to contact your buddy so that I could render my assistance.
Just so you know, looking for guys having problems with one of our optics is not my job description, I just feel that trying to make sure anyone who does have an issue gets the help they need is. Yes, sometimes we can't help everyone, but I think we try and I know I go out of my way to try and make sure folks are treated the way I would want to be treated. Even if it's just walking someone through the return process. In the end, we want you to be satisified with your Nikon product.

Barton Hege, i guess theres only one thing i can say to you. Thanks for coming on here and trying to correct a problem with one of your products.

It is good to know that some companies do care about what their customers need and want in a product. While i don't own any of your products at the moment, i am always on the look out for more scopes.

The fact that you were willing to come here to try and fix this problem will make me take another look at your scope lineup because the next scope is always just around the corner. Thanks, blue.

Thank you Blue!
Where in Ore are you from?
I grew up in Port. and hunted all over the state.
Man I miss the weather right about now!
We've been triple digits for 30+ days and no end in sight.
Of course if you expect anything different from July/Aug weather in Tx. you will be sadly disappointed.

We have a great line up of New Scopes for 2011 in case you are interested?
Check out Nikonhunting.com

I just got my hands on the new ProStaff Rimfire BDC 150 yesterday. I can't wait to get it mounted and to the range. My son and I love shooting reactive targets with the 22's, helps beat the heat! Not really, but it is fun!

I worked on Nikon microscopes for 12 years at H-P Corvallis.

I sent a lot of eyepieces and lenses in for repair (usually after some doofus dropped them) and never had a single problem with them fixing them correctly.

So, IMO, the company as whole sure doesn't have customer service that "sucks". We had Nikon field reps in there on a regular basis and they would bend over backwards to make things right.

Kinda like Barton.

It’s funny (not really) how people will bad mouth a company or product on hearsay.

Even worse, because of where the product is manufactured.
Nikon has always answered my questions in a reasonable amount of time and taken care of any issues that I had, most of which I caused.

I won’t always buy Nikon (don’t always have what I want), but when I do, I feel confident that I’m getting a good product with good customer care.

Thank you Tx.,
If there is one thing I have found out in my whopping 1 year of doig some work for Nikon is that they really do listen to what the customer wants, example, crossbow scope, rimfire scopes. The coorporate guys are hunters and shooter, they use their products which makes gives them a much better understanding. Nothing like hands on in the field or at the range use.
I absolutely appreciate all the support you guys have given to Nikon in this thread. If Mx gets me the information I need I will do my best to make sure his bino's are repaired to his satisfaction.

Barton, like i said in my PM, I dont have access to the # that u need as they have already been sent back. If you can do anything with my dads name and adress you got it. I do appreiciate your intent to resolve this problem.

No problem Barton.

It sure would be nice if Nikon would make more illuminated models in Prostaff, Buckmaster, Monarch, etc then they wouldn't have lost 3 recent sales

nice of you to try and help but he was so upset after trying so many times that i don't think he trusted them any more. i will see if he will let me give you his nu.

Barton, i'm in the la grande area, you probably have hunted here. It's a wonderful place to live, hunt and fish, ... if you don't need work because there hasn't been any for years.

I lived in the southwest for a number of years and loved it, however it does get just a tad warm during summer.

I am starting to look for a different scope for my .260 tactical, and will give your scopes a look at. Thanks, blue

I bought A Nikon Buckmaster mildot maybe 7-8? yrs ago. Rifle & scope has "hit the gravel road" twice now, duh on my part.

Keeps on working. Also I lost one of my E/W caps while I was T-shooting one day. I called Nikon, & wanted to order a new one. They sent me a new cap & I recieved it within the wk. No charge.

So far, no complaints.

Blue, We used to hunt out of Joseph/Imnaha area. Gorgeous country. For deer it could be in the 90's or 3 feet of snow,we had both over the 20 years I hunted there. Love that area! You are a luck man. Not much better to eat then Cow Elk.

I know how upset a person can get when things don't go right.
While reading this thread,I opened a box of kitchen matches and about half of them fell out and went all over the floor.I had to pick up every one of them. Not only that I bumped my head while I was stooping over and picking up matches that should not have fallen out of the box.I am going to contact the match company and give them a piece of my mind. They should have known that people would open their box while distracted and they would fall out if you hold the box upside down.Nothing works as it should anymore.I get so po'ed.

Yep and yep, Barton. Simply amazing country here you can hunt in sagebrush at sea level in one place and go just a few miles and be hunting above the high timber line at 9,000'+.

We are in one of those places that it can snow on the 4th of july and still be 80 degrees on thanksgiving. You certainly are right about the taste of elk as well.

But don't tell anyone cuz it's to crowded up here already, heck i actually saw another hunter the other day on the same mountain i was on, thats to dam* crowded. blue

LOL, Blue, Nice ot know there are stiull a few places a guy can go and not be overwhelmed by the crowd of hunters. I always worried about getting shot!
We had days when we limited on pheasants, chukar, shot some quail, ducks and geese when we hunted near Boardman. You are lucky to live in such beautiful country. I think some of the guys would appreciate some of the views you see from the mountain tops, then again, maybe you want to keep all that hush hush.....?

Took 9 months for myself to get a replacement Nikon Tactical scope and that was calling every month complaining. That was my last time I said I would buy another Nikon.

Shhhhhh. Oh by the way there are still 12' snow drifts at anthony lakes blocking the way to the archers eastern oregon super shoot, how many truck loads would you like? blue
