Was considering picking up a pair of Nikon Monarch ATB Binoculars. Anyone using them? Not sure about purchasing either the 12 X 42 or 10 X 42's.

i have never had a pair of these but i'm sure they are decent. i've looked through them in the store but you can't tell anything much from that.

however, my cousin just bought a pair of vortex diamondbacks for 200 bucks and i'm thoroughly impressed with them. i bet they are comparable to the monarchs.

Got a pair of 8 x 42 love them I like the 8 better for all around use because they are brighter in low light

One of the best bang for the buck in binoculars.

I have had a pair of the original 10x42 Monarch ATB's for 5 years. They have been and still are the best selling bino's in their price range for a reason. I just had the chance of trying the new Monarch 3 ATB's on my recent pronghorn hunt. They are even better and give better low light performance. They are still in that $250 range too. I like the 10x42's. The 12's are too hard to steady if you are doing a lot of glassing.

Good Hunting,

Bob

I have had a pair of 8x42 Monarchs for about 5 years and I am very happy with them. I haven't looked through the Vortex Diamondbacks but they get very good reviews and CameraLand has the 10x42's for $229. I would stay with the 8x or 10x, if you hunt timber more than fields go with the 8x.

I bought the 8X42 Monarch ATB when my premier Cabela's 12X wore me out glassing dogtowns all day..more magnification than needed for me for that task. Nikon builds good stuff.

I used a partners 8x Swarowskis and they were great glass..he laughed, he'd had for a quite a while..said he couldn't afford to buy them now.

10-12X might work for some or maybe many however 8X does it for me on binoculars.

I picked up a pair of the monarch's in 10x42 about a month or two ago. I've been using them just about every weekend and I've loved every minute of them. They are great in low light, very clear glass and great eye relief(I wear glasses). I recomend them highly!!

Thanks Guys for the great comments about Nikon's Bino's. As Calypso stated the Monarch 3's are prtty awesome and great glass. I'm glad I just got a pair as the Monarch ATB's that I have had for 2 years in 8X just became a buddies.
He borrowed them for some preseason scouting and pretty much said I'll either pay ya for them or not give them back.....I guess that's a pretty good compliment as well!
Would love to see some pics with your bino's and trophies guys!

I have the 10 x 42s and they are worth the cash. Don't hesitate.

Has anyone had issues with the eye cups stripping out/falling off? I read the reviews on Cabelas site and alot of guys were complaining about them. Quite a few guys gave them a 1 out of a possible 10. Cabelas was the only location I found negative feedback however.

Nope. I think that is probably related more to "user error". There is a reason the Monarch's have been the best selling in their price range. As I said earlier, the new Monarch 3's are even better and at about the same price.
