Nite Site Opinions

I was at the World Predator and Hog Extravaganza this weekend in Waco Texas. Saw a product new to me. it is called the Nite Site. I would like to hear some pro's and con's. Currently I do not own any IR or thermal equipment. Was thinking about this as my entry into night hunting.....other than my led lights.

There is some information on Youtube. Here is the link.

Let me know what you think.

Gary,

Welcome to night hunting!

Plenty of guys on here that will chime in on the what, where, when, why and how much shortly.

I guess a lot depends on your $$ situation and are you going to hunt a lot or a little?

Maybe you can elaborate a little on your situation?

I have been using Elusive Technology's led lights. I have 2 of the 250 yard models scope mounts and 1 of the 100 yard models that I mount on my hat. I have been successful with these but was looking at IR. I liked the Nite Site system because I can use my current scope and if I wanted to film it I could. I go night hunting 2 to 3 times a year and just wanted to upgrade my equipment. The top of the line Nite Site retails MSRP for $1250. I would like something in this price range only due to the amount that I hunt.

Ns200 model? It will probably work but the only downfall I see is it looks a little complicated with all the pieces and parts. I'd have the wiring disconnected b4 I got to my first set at night. Keep it simple.

Gary your close, give me a shout during the week and you can field test and range test some gen3 and thermal should have my D760 back soon and have a HTRN mx160 for scope mounting as well as camera. and several IR lights

Gary, I too looked at the NS 200 some time back, have a friend in the UK who has (or had) one.

You can put essentially the same (same concept) together yourself for slightly over $200 and have a great time with it. I put one together last summer and have hunted with it quite a bit. Several guys asked me how to do it, so I have written up a detailed plan in a Word document, along with photos and video clips of how it sees at night and in the daytime too.

My advice - save yourself a ton of money and do your own. It's a lot of fun and rewarding too.

If you are interested, send me a personal note with an e-mail address where I can send the Word document to.

David
