Who uses a 25 cal? Doesnt seem like hardly anyone. I love the low BC 70gr blitz/varmint king. Anchors coyotes really well and not messy at all. Almost never exits. I shoot the 25-45 and a 25 creed..

I have a 25/06 that i use to use for coyotes. Since going suppressed, it mostly gets used for antelope or used un places where suppressors/ARs/SBRs are illegal since it is one of the few rifles i have that isn't threaded.

I have a .257 Weatherby Mag. It's a finicky S.O.B. Have it shooting pretty good with 90gr CX bullets if I keep it clean. Hopefully I will get to use it on an antelope hunt this fall.

People are starting to see the light again on how good the 25’s are. Ive been a fan for a long time and still have my first 25-06. I have 3 25-06’s now along with a 25-45 Sharps AR and custom bolt action and a recently built 25 Creedmoor bolt action. Both customs are built on Mac Bros. Element actions.

I have shot some 75 grain vmax’s on a few prairie dog trips out of the 25-06 and one word describes the results…messy! I normally stuck with 90 grain Sierra hp’s for coyotes and 100 grain Nosler Partitions or Ballistic Tips for deer.

The 25-45 has now stacked up quite a few coyotes using the Speer 87 grain soft points. Around 60-70 or so now. The results are unbelievably impressive for a small case and not many coyotes have stopped a bullet from being complete pass throughs. It has become one of my absolute favorites to take hunting! I prefer the bolt gun to the AR.

The 25 Creedmoor is still sitting in the corner without anyone paying any attention to it. Work had been busy. Eventually there is a pile of Sierra 90 grain Varmint Kings to get worked into an accurate load. Hopefully they shoot because I stockpiled a ton of them!

I shoot a 25-204, 100gr Partitions at 2850 for deer and 75gr Vmax at 3100 for coyotes if you don't want to save fur. I do have a very accurate load for a 85gr NBT at 3000 if I ever get an antelope tag. I've packed it on a couple javelina hunts but haven't killed anything with that load.

I built this rig in 2005 and took my largest whitetail with it.

I've had a couple 250-3000, a couple 257 Roberts, a 25-35 in a Savage 99 and I have a german drilling in 6.5x58 Rimmed Sauer and Sons that has a .260 groove diameter that shoots .257 bullets well but being a little odd I swage .264s down to .260 for it.

The 25x47 Lapua is the latest greatest in PRS.....

I have too much of a love affair with the 6x47 Lapua to cheat on 'er now.

My one & only 25 was an early Sendero in 25-06 that I bought used on the rack at Gander Mountain.

I got it specifically to see how good I could get it to shoot for the 1000 yard Benchrest Rest stock class.

It shot good enough the set the range record with a 4.XX" group.

I have a 700 CDL fluted (blue not stainless) in 257 Wby Mag. Shooting 100gr TTSX. Son killed a decent 8 point with it this year. It puts the hurt on them, no tracking.

Probably wouldn’t use it specifically for coyotes unless they came by while deer hunting.

Ive been thinking about the 25-204 or the 25 gt. I find the 70gr bk pretty fur friendly but very lethal out of the sharps.

I owned a Savage 25-06 and with my reloads of a 75 gr. Hornady V-Max, I was getting 3400 fps. 1 1/8" groups at 100 yards and 1 1/4" groups at 200 yards. I wasn't impressed with the accuracy and have owned 243s in the past that were more accurate with the same bullet weight.
I shot 1 coyote with it, sold it, purchased another 243 and never looked back.

Unless this is a typo I fail to understand how this kind of accuracy was unacceptable.
I had a gunsmith tell me the same thing, when I mentioned switching barrels to improve the accuracy. He said that was good accuracy for a quarter bore and that I should quit complaining, accept it and go hunting. :)

There's nothing wrong with it, rather I was used to tighter groups at the same distances with a 243.

@IndexFinger get in here and spread the gospel of the 25-45 Sharps!

Yes I confess, to a love affair with the .25x45 going into at least 7 years now . It Pretty efficient with only burning 28.5 grn. powder and moving "sierra varmintking's" . aka.. good old 70 blitzking's , a comfortable 3000 fps vel. . If I need to shoot and push farther downrange, hitting harder, then I just keep it simple, I use the oldschool .308win.
.

Dad used to have a gorgeous Pre ‘64 Model 70 in 25-06, sitting in a Brown Precision. All he ever shot with it was coyotes and he sold it before I ever started hunting. I watched a lot of coyotes get smashed by that thing.

I don’t shoot it much at all. Haven’t shot it since about 2018 or so if I’m being completely honest. 257 Wby launching 115gr Berger’s and H1000 pushing them. It’s stupidly accurate for essentially, a factory rifle. I’ve only killed two whitetails and an antelope but it sure put the hurt on.

I own 3 25/05 rifles. I had a friend build me the last one. Dumoulin action, Bartlien 27-3/4" target barrel, Jared trigger, Bell&Carson stock, Bushnell Match Pro 5x30x56 scope. I love this rifle, it shoots one hole groups at 100. 70 grain blizkings clock 3976@10'. It SMOKES coyotes.
The 117 GR with H1000 clock in at 3226 and am going to try some Retumbo. I've shot 3 really nice whitetail bucks with my 25/06 and using the 70 grain pills all one shot kills
