Anyone apply this to their gun? how important is the bead blasting on a gun with a cheaper finish like a Remington SPS.I wanna try it but only plan to do one gun so I am not interested in buying a bead blaster. Any other options for prep?
 
You might try some fine sandpaper. It just requires some texture to hold on to. Moly resin won't stick to a super slick finish. I've finished several of my guns with Moly Resin and am very pleased with the results.
 
I have use it and like it a lot. I think like okdave said fine sand paper would be good. Just make sure you clean it real well with degreaser a couple of times.
