Northwest Pelt Prices?

New to the forum and to coyote hunting. If anyone out there is from the northwest, what is the current value of coyote fur/pelts?

Thanks for the info in advance.

The Idaho Trappers first fur sale is next weekend. Hold on for a week or so and I can give you some prices. I'm not expecting them to be much over $25/average if the last few years is an indication. Don't give up your day job! LOL. Some of the better pales from MT/WY/and parts of Canada and the Dakotas will go closer to $50/average. Some higher. If you're close to Moscow, Schroeder at the Moscow Fur & Hide can give you a better indication on prices for local coyotes. Of course, when buyers don't have to compete with other buyers (as in you take the fur to their place to sell it), they usually discount their offers accordingly.

If you get enough to think about selling them and want to come to an auction, the ITA puts on two sales each year in Mountain Home; one in January and one in March. There's also a guy, Corey Hatch, that does a drive by pickup service for NAFA sales, but I don't know how far north he goes.

IdahoDog,

I am here in Idaho, Emmett to be exact!

I have had an offer to take all my dogs in the round for $5.00 from one guy, another will give me $10.00 in the round.

I heard that put-ups are going for 12-15 dollars for average dogs, and up to $25.00 for high mountain dogs - well furred and very prime.

January issue of The Trapper & Predator Caller Magazine says(Coyote)that Early Goods should bring $18-$20 when fully prime look for $25.00. Grading will be tight!

I hope that helps.

Just left the ITA Fur Sale in Mt Home. Not much fur was brought in, but you asked for coyote prices so here they are:

182 sold for $5657.46/$31.08 average; 122 no sales; Top Lot of 11 @ $503.17/$45.74 average.

Worth skinning if you take the time to put them up right.

The results for the Blackfoot sale were posted on another site. They quoted the price of coyotes at $55.67 for a high and an average of $38.43. There were 371 offered and 310 sold. If anyone is interested in the cats - they sold 79 of the 81 offered at an average of $386.43. I understand that two single cats took top lot at $616.00 each
