Has anyone ever shot any coyotes with these bullets? I picked up 500 a few years back. I guess they use them on kangaroos in Australia? They are supposed to have very thin jackets but I can't find any info on them. Part # 48520

My favorite coyote bullet in a .223 is Nosler .55 gr. BT. Have also shot a number of whitetail does and hogs with them as that is what was in the rifle at the time. Shot placement paramount on the larger animals.

use the ballistic tip ones for coyotes and prairie dogs in My 6mm.
Flat out devastating on prairie dogs.
They "Kill" coyotes like no tomorrow.
There not fur friendly , at least not at 4200 fps ...

The SHOTS I have are a soft point. I haven't loaded them, just hate to pass up 1,000 of anything for $89.

Venatic shoots them some, and surely he has killed a few coyotes with them.

Yes I piced up 500 cheap and I loaded some to try in my Swift with 37 grains of imr 4064. I just haven't made it to the range yet.The swift doesn't seems to like anything so far.

I picked up a "K" a few years ago and are very accurate in my 6x45mm. I've have just used them for punching paper. I did use them one year at the egg shoot in LasCruses but the wind at that one blew them around alot.

The .224 version the only thing I use in my AR anymore. In my experience the are accurate and deadly. So far I have only shot one coyote with them and he was DRT. A budy of mine used these out in Western Kansas P-D shooting and and they would literally rip pups in half. That was all out of a 223. I loaded some Nosler/Win CT 55 gr 6 mm bullets for a friend of mine and they seem pretty accurate from the bench. We just havent shot a coyote with them yet. If they are anything like the 223's they they do the job.

I have shot them. They are very accurate but to violent for my taste in 223 you should be OK but at 22-250 velocities they are explosive.good job shooting a buck with them I've had two greetings do that with the 4 th about putting it down. They are thin walled. Even nosler days not for big game after those 2 I believe them. For coyotes I have killed 5 then stopped pelt damage was to severe. If hide hunting isn't then there great.

Shot a coyote yesterday for the first time. Hit right behind the shoulder. Baseball sized hole in the hide but the Bullet didn't penetrate the rib cage. I am pushing these as hard as possible in my ar 223. I won't be shooting coyotes with these any more. These are p-dog bullets only in my book.

Also they really don't fly well. Good accuracy to about 300 yds but they don't fly true at longer ranges.

The price of these is awesome but for longer ranges and coyotes I'm going back to blitzking bullets.

I am not trying to disagree with you and your results in the field proves your point, but I am surprised. I had always believed that the Blitzking was more frangible than the NBT and for that reason I had purchased Nosler for my 22-250 rather than the Blitzking because I thought they would penetrate better on coyote and mountain lion sized game. Maybe I need to rethink this.

Shot a coyote Sunday morning wth one of these SHOTS. It was a 55 grainer out of my swift at about 3700 fps. Coyote was broadside at 125 yards. I made a perfect hit right behind the shoulder and the exit hole was about the size of a quarter. Spin cycle for 5 seconds and done. I was able to get two consecutive one ragged hole 5 shot groups at 100 yards with this load. At that point I just loaded 50 rounds and went hunting. I'm pleased for once lol.

As a disclaimer regarding the blitzking I haven't shot any coyotes with 22 Cal bullets. I've shot a few with 70 gr 243s. I've shot lots of p dogs with 22 Cal and they are very accurate at longer distances.

Reading these posts it seems we're not all on the same page regarding what bullets are being talked about. To clear it up, SHOTS refers to the cheap cup-and-core soft points Nosler is selling through shootersproshop.com. Completely different than Ballistic tips or Varmageddon. They are available in 55 gr 6mm as well as .224 in a couple of weights I think.

Are these the same as the Dogtown bullets Midway USA is selling?

I can't be positive but I believe some of them are. Also the varmint nightmare line from Midsouth. I've been told those bullets are made by Nosler.

Sorry for my auto correction spelling. I and my friends have used the nosler ballistic tip 22 caliber bullets. From deer to small predators. In the animals we have shot. Deer never again if you hit bone you get a nasty flesh wound. It took 4 bullets to bring it down FYI it wasn't me.On coyotes results have been clean pass through on broad side shots with minimal pelt damage ,to ribs being hit and making a entrance hole the size of a base ball to frontal angle shots going through meat and chest with the exit being the size of your fist.there accurate, but shot placement can produce very different results. Don't get me wrong I love nosler bullets. In 308 cal,and 338.My advise if you are planning to sell pelts don't use them, blowing up prairie dogs have fun there great.
