Nosler 6mm ballistic silvertip

I’m curious if anyone have experience shooting these nosler ballistic silver tip spitzer bullets? I’m looking at the 6mm with 55 grain and 95 grain. Do they perform the same as the other nosler ballistic tips just with the added Lubalox Exterior Coating? Looking to use the lighter grain for coyotes and the larger for deer and antelope.

In barrels that copper foul badly, these lubalox bullets are of considerable value in that they increase the number of rounds fired before you have to clean again. How many more rounds you get is up to the individual barrel.

I used the non-coated 55gr Btip for a year from my 243, and was disappointed with the on-coyote performance.

I had more floppers and runners than I care for, even lost one. Pelt damage was OK, nothing severe.

Very accurate, and very fast, about 4,000fps using BL-C2.

60g sierra will never let you down, if you are interested in shooting a lighter bullet. I shot a lot of coyotes in Mexico with 6mm Rem and 243's with 60g Sierra's and Win 760 with Fed 210's.

of the black coated Nosler bullets that I have used, which include:

22 caliber-55g in a Remington 700 VSSF
6mm- 243 Winchester caliber in a Ruger varmint-95g
7mm- Many Remington 700's, Browning A bolt, and one very beautiful 7 Mag, Savage 116-140g

They all were extremely accurate and no issues with surface explosions of any kind. Brothers, Cousins, and Dad killed a lot of deer with the 140g Combined Tec bullet out of 7 mags at warp speeds, while brother and I shot them out of the 7 STW at 3550 fps.

Several things we have seen:

Lubalox coating reduces friction, thus takes a tad more powder, thus more velocity in every case vs normal nosler ballistic tips

coating is no issue coming out of the barrel

IN the Drop dead gorgeous Savage 116 in 7 Mag , it would shoot 3/8" groups for 12 shots, then groups would open up to 1". The shooting string was extended to around 25 rounds with the lubalox bullets.

All of these bullets liked to be seated touching the lands in every case for best accuracy.

If you can find these on sale, buy 10 or more boxes, they are like money in the bank.

I have found them in 55 grain for 6mm but it must be discontinued because nosler doesn’t offer them anymore on there site. That’s great info for me to use ackleyman and I appreciate it. It sounds like it’s a good bullet for all the things I’m looking for. In your experience ackleyman, do you experience less copper fouling then other bullets?

I shot some 168gr ballistic silvertips in my 300win mag several years ago right before I replaced the barrel on my remmy Sendero. They got me an extra deer season. I shot lots and lots of 125 ballistic tips for groundhogs in that one and the barrel was toasted. The deer I shot with them were dead on impact!
