We entered a ice fishing tournament today, and pulled off a win. It was judged on length, you were allowed to enter 10 pan fish. We brought home 72, with our top ten totalling 88 3/4".

It was a great day on the ice, and was a great start to our season for fishing tournaments, now if only we can keep the ball rolling through spring steelhead tournaments where first place pays out up to $6000 we will be in good shape.

Richie, let me break it down for you. First, drill holes in ice, and put shanty over it.

Next fillet all the fish you caught.

Now roll them in Drakes and drop in hot oil, mix up some hushpuppy batter and drop it in the oil.

Looks like some good eating. Thanks for the tips and info. I e only ice fished once and I froze my arse off, so I vowed to never do it again and I haven't. Some 20+ years later.
 
Nice job. I love ice fishing for panfish. If I'm not running dogs or hunting fur, you can probably find me ice fishing.

They are some great eating fish.

Yep, about three hours. If i had a passport i would drive over there and do some running with you. We may be going out on Saginaw Bay for some Walleyes through the ice this weekend, you are welcome to meet up and fish if you would like, or even come run with us any time you like.
 
Ive had my passport forms sitting on the counter for over a yr now and still havent filled them out yet lol. I will get on it. If the invite is open for next I would be more then happy to take you up on it. Would be nice to see some good hound work and different area. I'm up for ice fishing to.
 
I hunt year round, my door is always open to any pm member to come hunt, fish, or just visit any time. You got any good trout fishing over there?
 
I wouldnt say great but early spring late fall under the bluewater bridge. Just getting into float fishing with a centerpin reel so its pretty new to me. Took a trip to port hope for salmon last fall and what a blast. I caught the smallest 1 which was around 12lbs lol. Caught several over 20
