I just opened a package today with the most beautiful call inside. I can see now that I need a better camera. Thanks Al.
After I worked up the nerve to giver her a try, (never made it out of the kitchen) I started to blow. It only took me two tries to figure it out and produce some wonderful sounds (barks, yips and howls). After I spit my gum out, I got on it and distress sounds came effortlessly (is that a word?).
The call is made of African Blackwood (my favorite) and has a supurb finish inside and out. It is a double reed call with the top reed "dimpled" so the reeds won't stick together.
The brass is polished to a mirror finish. It is hard to tell from the photo, but there are no flaws in the wood OR the brass. The ripples you see in the brass are reflections.
This is good stuff guys. If you're afraid to take one out in the field, buy 2 or buy one, don't tell the wife and tell her you need a THO call for Christmas. If you don't get one now, you'll regret it later for sure.
