Oklahoma hunting regulation ????

Yes, it is a true shame Oklahomans can't hunt predators at night, oh, by the way the predators are nocturnal. it just doesn't make since. I would suggest that instead of everyone writing into this web site, they should bombard the head of the ODWC with e-mails. E-mails that talk about Texas regs. compared to OK. and prove the point that night hunting isn't bad, as alot of Okies view it because of the law. If enough people bark they may just listen. The reason hunting is allowed at night in OK with the aid of a dog and a .22 rimfire is because of the strong coon hunter support. If predator hunters give the same support, they may re-write the laws to favor themselves.

Guys, I think now is the time to try & get some things changed. With the new Gov. Henry in office he appears to not be afraid of change. Is there a way we can get the message to him & for say go around the ODWC? Has anyone ever done anything like this? I know I have absolutley no expierence in these types of things. Another agency that we should try to get involved if we are going to take this foreward is the first trappers & predator callers assoc. (I think that is right) Trophyhunter is a member with them also & could maybe help out with there contacts. Is a petition the way to go? I just think if we try to go thru the ODWC we will not get anything but the same answers you guys have been getting. Just more of my .02 worth. Later, Dean-o

Rep. Bill Mitchell from Linday has introduced a bill that would allow landowners to hunt feral hogs at night. This may be a foot in the door that could possibly lead to predator hunting later on. Rep. Mitchell is on the state wildlife committee, so maybe we need to start by contacting him.
