Oklahoma Night Hunting

I will be going to southern OK for a hog hunting trip in about 3 weeks and have access to a night vision scope. Is it legal to hunt hogs at night in OK?

Might want to contact the Wildlife Dept. with that question.For coyote hunting you have to have written permission from the Game Ranger for the specific property and night you will be hunting.Using a shotgun with no bigger than number 6 shot.

Night Vision is completely illegal in Oklahoma....

Actually, night vision can be used here in OK if being used for nuisence work(ie hogs). I have recieved permission to use NV on hogs recently.

What part of Oklahoma are you from, I've lived here all my life and have never heard of that being leagl

Check the Oklahoma Predator Hunters Association website. They have an Ask the Warden forum and this has been discussed thoroughly. Basics are you have to have a written permit from the county game warden that is only good for one 24 hour period (noon to noon). Some wardens give permits freely and some don't give any at all. You can also access the hunting regs online at the Oklahoma Wildlife Dept. website. Hope this gets you going in the right direction. Good luck.
