Any of my fellow Okies ever hunt Sandy Sanders WMA? It's some pretty rugged country in places. Lots of coyotes and cats. And some huge bucks, both white-tails and mulies.

You threw me there for a minute, I don't remember ever hearing of that one before, I went to ODWC online maps and found it, it's almost in the Texas panhandle! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I've hunted it alot. For deer it's archery only /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif,except for the controlled hunts. The West entrance is 8miles straight south of me. If you're ever out this way, drive thru and check it out. It's really beautiful country. Mesquite flats, prickly pears, deep brushy draws, huge rock plateaus, perfect coyote habitat. (Bout 19,000 acres worth) If it's warm watch for rattlers. I saw a mountain lion while bowhunting on the south end about 5 years ago.

Used to hunt qauil right next to it. looked like lots of good calling. Called state guy that works there .He said it gets called alot(maybe ......maybe not). There is also WMA land on north side of Lugert ,but is shotgun only (Ithink).

I've never hunted Sandy Sanders. Everyone tells me it's full of snakes, so I guess I'll have to go before it gets warm.

Damn, I hate snakes!!!!!!!!!
