have a chance at a fullfield II 4-14 scope. It is older and has glossy finish. The "Burris" shown on the side of the scope is in cursive, not printed (which is why I'm assuming it is older).
Do any of you see any problems with this scope or know anything about how old it might be??
is it fully multicoated or what - any thoughts appreciated. Asking price is $225 on it.

thanks.

I have two older fullfield IIs. They are ok, the optics are not the best IMHO, but they have been reliable. I think for the money there is better glass out there. I like my sightron si better and they are a lot less less money.

If that scope has the AO, that is a good price, assuming it is in good shape. If it looks good it might be worth a shot. At that price you should be able to unload it if you don't like it.

The newer models are selling for that same price used. You can pick a new one up for about $300 I believe. Look in the classifieds I believe there is one for sale in there.

the scope is AO and the seller says it is actually NIB - even though it is older. He bought for a gun a while back, but never mounted it adn has since sold the gun.
he seems to be a trustworthy fella so i beleive him!
my biggest issue is that it is glossy

I have an older fullfield that I like, its one that has the separate power adjustment ring. Newer ones the whole backend rotates. I know of two guys that had newer Burris scopes that had POI problems when changing magnification. I don't like it when the ocular lens rotates when you change the magnification. That is why I don't own any of the newer Burris scopes. I also find that the crosshair/duplex seems to be a tad thick for small squrriels at long ranges. No problems on coyotes on up to big game. You can always offer them alittle less then they are asking. good luck.

price sounds high. older scope, also is glossy and you clearly have hesitation about that. Maybe $150. Not your fault the guy bought it and then sat on it for years as it depreciated.

I have a Fulfield II 4.5-14x and not impressed. I'd buy a Mueller APT 4.5-14x40AO from site sponsor Joe Bobs for $169 before I'd drop more money on that old scope.

I have a Burris Fullfield 6x18 w/ao that I havent used for several years. Its American made & in excellent condition. Have gotten away from the high mag optics.
