I have a line on an Olympic arms ar with scope mount and rings bull bbl 18 inch 1/9 twist and 2 mags
for 719 is it a good deal how are oly arms? i can trade a few guns for it
 
This could open a can of worms. I had one that I ran thousands of rounds through and never had a problem with it. My son has one and it is a shooter. Some people don't like oly arms but I have never had a problem with them.

If I'm not mistaken, the bulk of rifles Mike has turned out at Dtech started life as Oly's (mine included). I know my barrel and lower are Oly's and I assume the upper is too. I know Mike works his magic on them before they go out, but he's not in the turd polishing business, so I'd be willing to bet they aren't half bad to begin with. I've even been eye balling one of their plinker models at a local shop, thinking it might be a good idea to get another before elections.

I had one from Dtech that I sold 2 weeks ago. But I dod not sell it because it was not good I sold it to get a .204 upper. It was a great gun shot 700+ rounds with absolutley no issues, very accurate rifle.

Several guys on here have the k16's and K8's and they are happy with them also. It is a preference thing more than anything else. I think you will be happy with it.

The big problem oly had is their mag wells, as they wouldn't allow the mags to drop free. For someone putting their life on the line, this is a problem. But for the hunter, it's not so much. I have two friends that have Oly K-8's and they shoot lights out and have had no problems what so ever. I also have one friend that wouldn't own one even if it was free. Like CWeeks said, it's a preference thing for the most part.

Actually Oly doesn't make a rifle with an 18" barrel. It's probably a 16". If it is a 1/9 twist, then it is one of their button-rifled barrels. Those are not their "best" barrel, but they typically will shoot quite well. It will have a 5.56 chamber in it.
 
I am waiting for mine to arrive from detch any day now. Mike called today and we are working out last minute shipping plans. I went with a k-16 with the quad rail forarm and an adj stock. I will also have a stainless barrel on mine instead of the carbon steel barrel. I had mike make this gun for me as i wanted something that i could shoot the heck out of and play soldier again. I knew that the oly would be a good gun for this project, and i like the way mike treats his customers. Not to mention he is a first class rifle builder! Lee
 
i called and it is a K-16 modle


the dealer just called me and said he was mistaken it is an MFR modle i could not find anything on this modle anyone with info on it?
 
You can't beat a K-16 at that price! I love mine and have never had any problems with it at all. It's a shooter!

yes it does have a fixed butt stock so its a K3B so for 600 cant go wrong i am trading in my current rifle so i can get this i just hope it shoot well
