do any of you have the pcr 16 or have any experience with it, they are now called k 16, i dont know why. any info would be helpful.

I have a PCR 16 and a colt that cost allmost twice as much. They have about the same level of accuracy. The pcr is a little handier (shorter) and it has a better trigger.A good deal for what they cost.

Hey Evil, how did you get the sling stud in the front shroud? just wondering, I can't wait for my k16 to come in... lots of coyotes just south of the twin cities up here in minnesota....

I have a PCR-16 with the bull barrel and it is an absolute tack driver! I put a JP trigger in it and my groups shrank to 1/2" or less! I have shot about 5,000 rounds through it and it just keeps getting better. I have a Leupold tactical 4.5-14 on it with a set of tactical precision rings. This little rifle is awesome. It points great and is an awesome shooter. For the money, it shoots with the big $1,500-$2,000 dollar rifles at a quarter of the price. Good luck.

Awesome!!!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

A couple of my calling buds have gone to the PCR 16. They are also gun builders. From the way they brag about them they must be some awesome rifles. I couldn't believe the triggers straight out of the box. Better than most match triggers. They also said the rifles were pretty tight chambered.

It's just drilled through the free-float tube with a nut inside. It either came that way or my buddy who picked up the kit for me did me a favor.
And yes, the Oly chambers are on the tight side. It's chambered all the commercial ammo I've thrown at it, but you might need small base dies if you reload.

Yeah, I have less than $700 in that rifle (minus the scope/mount) and I'm real satisfied with it. I wouldn't say the trigger is "match grade", but I can shoot it just fine. It killed a sage rat at 440 yds. measured, which is a pretty dam small target. I impressed myself, even. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
If I'm going to get 5,000 rounds out of it, I'm really going to be a fan. That will only take me about 20 years. Heh..heh.

Man I would shoot that in 5 months. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Seriously though, It is very easy to sit down and shoot 200-300 rounds in one sitting. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif

I sell a fair amount of the K-16s. I have them on the shelf for $649.00 and they sell right along. I have yet to have a complaint on any of them. The K-8 Target Match is another good deal. I has a 20" Stainless barrel for a little more money. Both have been great rifles.

Olympic Arms changed the name of all of their rifles in September of 1994, after the AWB went into effect. The new model at that time stood for: Politically Correct Rifle (PCR) as the new models no longer had flash-hiders, folding or collapsible stocks or bayonet lugs. In September of 2004 when the AWB sunset, they resumed the old model number scheme. Ten years ago the "PCR" got a lot of chuckles!

The lower receivers and complete guns that were produced durring the AWB are all engraved "PCR" followed by the production year (PCR 95) and are clearly "post ban" The new rifles or receivers are all engraved "MFR" for Multi Function Rifle.

Dtech,

I am looking pretty hard at one of these rifles and so is a buddy. We would both love to keep the money in state and support a local business. How would we go about buying these from you without spending the gas money to drive to Bemidji??

My K16 has a stainless 1/8 twist barrel and it is as good a shooter as I am. I am not any better than 1/2" group at 100yds and it puts them right in there time after time. For the money best buy.
