I think it has been asked before but I can't find the post. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif Does the CZ 22 Hornet have a .223 groove diameter like the older guns, Or a .224 groove diameter like the new guns? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif

Welcome to the board smike308! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

There have been lots of .224 bullets shot through the .223 barrels and they seem to work just fine, many times, better than the .223 bullets. The worry is that they may raise pressures but in practice it seems to make little or no difference.

Thanks for the welcome Jack. My CZ has not had a .223 bullet fired through it. I haven't noticed any signs of high pressures or any other ill effects from the .224 bullets.

Thanks for the replies guy's. I thought they had a .223 groove diameter. But I also did not think that .0005/side more in diameter(.224) bullet would hurt anything.

I have never heard of a modern Hornet using the old bullet dia. Think this guy at CZ must have mis understood the question.

Steve--
Feel free to check it out yourself if you doubt what I stated earlier. There was no misunderstanding in the communication I had with Mike Eagleshield, the head gunsmith for CZ-USA. He stated to me that it was, in fact, .223 diameter. Please post the results of your research.

It will be interesting to see how this works out.
If CZ is really using .223 barrels on their Hornets they will be about the first manufacturer to do so in the last 40 years. Not that it makes much difference, just a curiosity thing.
