They are all zombies they eat the ones we've shot and drag them back underground.

Love it! I'm doing a rifle for my wife (I just typed "wifle" four times on accident...?) in a similar boat, 7mm RM + 338WM tubes, Boyd's Prairie Hunter Laminate for banging around, custom Macon Turkish Walnut for style points, QD's under a VX-6 1-6x and a VX-3 4.5-14x50mm with iron sights on the 338 barrel, slick on the 7mm.

Lots of fun to play the modularity game with non-modular platforms

So I put the HMR barrel on and took it for a test drive on Friday. I brought along some Hornady ammo.
I was reading on Rimfire central, where guys were using different torque settings on action screws to tighten up groups
I started at 20 in/lb and would shoot a group and then increase 5 in/lb. I did this until 40 in/lb.
For my rifle 30 in/lb seemed to work the best

Overall I was pleased with my groups. I put on my magnetospeed to get an idea of velocity and shot 20 rounds, which had an ES around 80 and SD of 26. At one point I shot a 16-17 shot group and while the windage of that group wasn't too bad, there was a bit of vertical stringing. I'm assuming this is the nature of rimfire Ammo. I would like to try some different ammo and see if there is any diffidence.

I'm not Tim

But it's a Sako quad rifle
I bought it with wood stock and 22 lr barrel
I ordered a McMillan A5 stock and Lilja 17 hmr barrel for it

Thanks

Good catch Kevin. I forgot Tim posted a pic

Sorry

Lol.. ur fine... never messed with the Quad! how are the barrels to swap out?

Great to hear.. I've had a New 455 sitting in the safe for the last 4 month and have not fired a round thru it because i'm waiting for the stamp to be approved so i can have it threaded, been thinking that a Lilja would be a nice addition and have it threaded and flip the unfired barrel. I know the factory tubes normally shoot very well... Decisions decisions

You are right. Post was for Tim's' Cooper but also sent a PM to Brad about his Sako. The Quad is a Killer rifle setup. Thanks Brad.

BTW, Does McMillan have a special inlet for the Sako Quad for the A5?

Keep us posted as to the best ammo for the Sako. Should be a great sagerat killer..

Yes I just called McMillan and told them what I wanted and they inletted it for me
I just dropped the barreled action in. Easy peasy

I think they have a few stocks that will work with the Quad, not only the A5
