ONE (and maybe the only) Reason to Vote for McCain

There are a lot of red flags concerning the current administration. One of the biggest is how secretive they are. They are constantly hiding behind national security and executive privilege. When we can’t see the visitors log of people seeing the VP, when former members of the staff are blocked from testifying before congress and they won’t allow the public to see a list of people present in a key energy meeting you have to ask yourself what are they hiding? As bad as they look now I wonder what they will look like 20 years from now when more of the truth comes out.

I'm just wondering, could the secrecy be due to that our enemies watch TV, have computers, Newspapers, access to satellite transmissions, cell phones, have intelligence gathering agencies, etc.?
Not to mention all the internet users who believe they know more about the situation than the elected or appointed officials in charge? Hmmmmm!
Actually, I'm of the belief that maybe we should be secretive about what we have planned for the enemy.
Could be that after all this is over in, maybe, 20 yrs., nice round figure, that maybe, just maybe we may have seen victory over the enemies of today by being secretive yesterday.
Hey, but what do I know. I just vote for people who I believe to be the best qualified for the job. Sometime its good &, not so many times its bad.
I'm not of the educated masses out here, but I do know that there are many things going on that are not for MY eyes & ears.
Speculation is fun but not as practical as reality.
Ignorance is indeed bliss for this Patriot.
I'm also thankful that we do keep our eyes & ears on our enemy transmissions in & out of our country which I believe is a common sense approach & I can go on being critical of my government about other things I know nothing about.
Just my thoughts at the moment. I may think about something totally differant later, & maybe not.
By the way, I just remembered that this country is at WAR so what better reason than now to just shut up & watch it unfold. Could be we might destroy the enemy if we don't help them too much.

Bob,
Anyone can agree with going into Afghanistan as a result of the Taliban's assistance to OBL's attack.

That is justifiable in even the most insane person's brain. They attack, we counter.
What I wonder is - where in the Constitution does it give the US the right to pre-emptively attack other countries because we don't like their government?
Sure, the folks in Iraq are now "free" from Saddam. I don't think it was worth 4000 of our brothers, sons and fathers.

If I have a gun pointed at me, am I truly free?

Pax America is destroying this country - we need to rethink our globalist-inspired foreign policy of the past 50 years. We've spent a $TRILLION$ in Iraq. Shucks, if we'd have bribed Saddam with a few $BILLION$ to step down, retire and live out his life in luxury, we'd be ahead 20-fold.

Precisely! However, Saddam was not the reason we are there, he was merely in the way and he knew too much about the war machine and who drives it.

I don't think anyone is stating that Saddam is a victim.
dead Saddam = 4000 dead Americans?
I don't think so.
THAT is the point I made, and I believe DaddyRabbit concurred.

The real victims, IMO, are the slain and disfigured Servicemen (and women) who are following orders, fighting and dying for an unjust military action.

Secondary victims are the American Taxpayers who are paying for these brave folks to be in harms way.

So, if we had known about 9/11 a month before it was supposed to go down, would you have supported a preemptive strike in Afghanistan? (And just believe for a minute that G.W. Bush didn't plan 9/11) Or, was it worth the 3000 dead civilians to prove that Osama was definitely a threat and actively seeking to kill us?

I have not talked to any troops who have been to Iraq that think the war is unjust (as by default they would be unjust aggressors for participating). On the contrary, they believe it to be a very just cause and many volunteer to return. But you and your cohorts cannot accept this because you believe Israel is the real terrorist threat.

Very well put! The taxpayers will never pay down this debt in our lifetime that this bafoon and his big $$ backers have created. Most people can't really fathom what it is to be over a TRILLION $$ in debt.I have always dreamed along w/every other sensible parent that my Son would peosper in a life much better than mine and right now it is looking bleak at best.

Intelligence sources say we knew YEARS in advance...

By your point-of-view, Saddam was planning on attacking us a month before we went after him? Do you believe that?

The government had plenty of opportunity to take out OBL - who, BTW was trained by our government - but refused to do so... this AFTER he killed scores of Americans during jihadi attacks. IMO, the government waited until 3000 died - to further their agenda.

My cousin has just returned from the M.E. - he has not volunteered to return... however, the ARMY has thought him 'patriotic' enough to extend his enlistment by 2 years without his consent and send him back numerous times.

Apparently you don't know what you're talking about re: my stance on Israel. IMO, if they'd have TCB 4000 years ago, we wouldn't be having issues with the sons of Ishmael. I won't fault your ignorance, though - as I've only recently returned to PM after a long absence.

How does having former White House staff testify before congress about hiring practices in the Justice Department give useful information to Islamo-extremists? I’m sure they would be real interested in the VP’s guest log also. This wouldn’t be the first administration to use national security and presidential privilege as a shield from embarrassment but they have taken it to an incredible extreme.

erschiessen, you pretty much ignored my question and went into another rant about Bush. FOCUS. I'll ask again.

I can see you have been bestowed with the gift of 20/20 hind-sight....and I'm paraphrasing.....well of course going into Afghanistan was justified (after they attacked us, of course) but going into Iraq was just war mongering GW's way to make daddy happy (preventing God knows what kind of attack).

I'll be waiting for your answer.

Put down the "J"...

This is not a question... this is a parenthetical straw-man.

I answered your question... WE HAD KNOWN AND DID NOTHING...

Sometimes removing a threat before they grow is the right thing to do preemptivly or not. Whether it was Saddam and his regime or the nut in Iran.
Does people remember Hitler that war caused the deaths of 60 million people many civilians. Maybe if someone would have stepped in and stopped him before his war machine marched through Europe it would have been worth a few thousand lives to save 60 million. If a President at that time had done that, would everyone have blamed him? But just think at what he might have stopped. The cost of that war was 1 trillion dollars in the 1940s. Whether its a bully in a school yard or a out of control dictator you have 2 choices. Live in fear and be controlled and make them happy. Or step up and do what you need to do to make yourself free. Is this not the reason we all here carry guns for personal protection? I love my family and friends and I will do anything or take on anyone to protect them and I hope my Country would do the same. Its funny many people want the good life but don`t want to get their hands dirty to get it, or they just want to sit back and criticize how everyone else is doing it wrong. The saying goes "all for one and one for all". Not all for one and that one is me!!

I find it odd that you mention Hitler. He had his bogeymen (the bolshevik and communist) and today we have ours (jihadis and 'sponsors of terror').

What most folks don't realize is that Hitler was only following what the American elite had been attempting to establish via the insane practise of eugenics. Hitler used the American estabilishment as a building-block toward his ideal of the aryan 'master race' - a major tenet of Mein Kampf.

I find some similarities to the Third Reich and the path that our government has been taking for the past 100 years.

How many folks in government DO NOT wear the American Flag Pin? Party members during Hitler's dictatorship also wore their flag pin.

Germany 'pre-emptively' invaded other countries. Sometimes false flag operations were utilized - which the government used as an excuse to invade the other countries OR for an expansion of powers by Hitler. The USS Liberty incident, the FIRST WTC bombing ( see http://www.whatreallyhappened.com/RANCHO/POLITICS/OK/wtcbomb.html ), and the Iranian coup in 1953 (Operation AJAX) come to mind on our end.

I equate folks standing up for Constitutional Principles in this era to be akin to folks like Dietrich Bonhoeffer in Hitlers era.

Do I think "W" wants to be a dictator? No, I don't think so. I do see the trend that DC in general is heading toward a global governence and loss of Liberty - and I don't like it... I don't care who is in the WhiteHouse.

If you can`t see the difference between Adolph Hitler and the third Reich of the 1930s and 40s. And the principles and beliefs of the United States and its people today and want to compare them. Then I am sorry to say your no better than the radical muslims were fighting.
You both have illusions of reality. We support and protect our allies were not trying to conquer a continent.

Are you directing some or all of that comment toward me?

You mean the Patriarch of the bum bush clan? Didn't he get caught for selling oil to the Nazi's when we were at war w/them? I've always known, the fruit never falls far from the tree.

What about Hitler’s banking partner, Prescott Bush?
