Had my 308 for several years now and killed a lot of coyotes with it. I LIKE the looks of the triangular barrel and really am not concerned about the 3 vents for the brake. What I do like is that since this rifle spends a lot of time riding around in my truck, I can just put the rifle muzzle down on the passenger floor board with the stock near my thigh and it is ready to roll at a moments notice. With the crown recessed up in there a few inches it won't hurt my rifles accuracy at all. I know that is kind of a redneck way to carry it but it IS safe and it will NOT hurt the crown. Good Luck!
