Opinions on Tikka rifles.......

Hi Kino M

I bought a Tikka T3 Lite in 223 last Spring.

I have a synthetic stock, blued barrel. I'm getting into coyotes more so I didn't want any stainless.

Anyway, the finish of everything is perfect, even the synthetic stock... not a single unfinished or rough spot.

The trigger is unbelievable. It breaks like glass. I also have a Browning A-bolt Hunter in 243. It is an excellent rifle, but honestly the trigger on the Tikka is better.

The stock on a Browning has a little less drop, so you need to use a higher scope mount. Some fellows like to keep a low mount.

The Tikka shoots sub MOA @ 100 yards with just about anything.

The absolute only negative that I can say about my Tikka T3 would be that Tikka charges too much if you want to buy a spare magazine. Since I'm only varminting, I don't need an extra mag.

Go for the Tikka, you won't be sorry.

Regards,

Tikka is the diluted version of a Sako...same barrel but bolt has 2 lug lock up instead of the 3 lug in the higher priced Sako's. Adjustable trigger, nice classic slim lines and for me a joy to carry. Accuracy is guarranteed to be 1 M.O.A. of out box, and it was with factory ammo. The bolt is butter smooth. I've killed more Coyotes with this rifle that with anyother gun I own..and although I am still new to the .223, it has become the pick of the litter when I go to grab a gun from my gun safe.

Same gun....I haven't had the time to really develope a good load for the Tikka, but so far 25.5 grains of Accurate Arms powder; 50 gr. Hornady V-max; CCI S.R. primer in a Military case seated about 10 thousandths off the lands kept 4 shots together at .550". Shot # 5 was a high flyer that I thought was me. Even with that, the group still measured under 1" at 100 yards. Not to bad for a stock out the box Tikka. Other promising powders were Win 748; 27.9 grains in a Rem case with 50 gr. V-max and cci primer, as well as same powder but using a Win case. Again all these held to just under 1' at 100, but never grouped together. I personally like to see bullets group if for nothing else at least touch each other. For the record, different cases DO give different results.
