Does anyone know about the Kel Tec PLR 16 handgun?
it's a 5.56 Nato handgun that comes with a 10 round mag, but accept regular M16/AR15 mags.

I would really like a handgun chambered in .223 / 5.56 and am not a fan of single shot guns, so this looks promising.

the only thing that has me thinking is this in their FAQ
"All Kel-Tec firearms have an expected life of 6,000 rounds or more."

I've seen these on GunBroker for around $500.00
here's the Kel Tec page on it

Kel Tec PLR 16

TIA

I did take a look at one, 16 inches long and darn near as heavy as a light rifle. I used to shoot contenders, had one in 223 and finally got rid of it, just to much muzzle blast with that short 10 inch bbl.

This is really to big to actually be a handgun and to small to be a rifle, kinda a "none of the above" catagory gun. Your going to have to wear a good set of earplugs to shoot it.

Being me and being old and decrepid I'd rather have a 223 semi on an AR platform or better yet in a good solid bolt action. Not discouraging you, but shooting a 10 inch bbl 223 gets old really quick. Even scoped the auto action is not as accurate as the AR or near as accurate as a good bolt gun.

It would probably best be carried with a sling, I did that to my Ruger 7.5 inch Super Redhawk when I was handgun hunting. It carried an aimpoint 5000 on it and just wouldn't fit in any kind of holster.

If you get one let me know how it shoots.
