I tried touching my nose on my charge handle and I can barely reach the trigger with my A2 stock. I do like to get my cheek down tight on the stock. My EOP dosn't allow that since it is so high but I use it to my advantage when I adjust my elevation target turrent up for those 400+ shots on prairie dogs to give me more minutes as the burris dosen't give me much adjustment.

Here's a link to the USAMU Service Rifle Team. The page has a video that show them in the shooting position.

I mention the eye piece should be even with the charging handle for eye relief only. It is easy to get a Badger Tac latch or simply use the charging handle from one side. It is all about eye relief.

It would be interesting to see how people who have their scopes so far back look in their natural shooting position. Of course all scopes are different and have different eye relief, but I haven't found a scope on any of my ARs that would want to mount that far back.

Off topic, here is the Marine EGA lower.

Thinking of eye relief,it appears that a variety of scope positions are used according to applications.
It would be interesting to see how many others have their scopes set back and for what reasons.
Thanks for an interesting post.

I'm not a pro AR shooter and the scope was mounted when I recieved the rifle used. It seemed to match up well and when I put new rings on it recently, I remounted it in the same position. Ignorance is bliss, but I am learning every day, ..dammit! Every time I think I have a handle on something,...it changes. knowwhatImean?
