Optic for 300 Blackout

I put together an AR 300 Blackout. This will be a range toy only and will suppressed to shoot subsonic.

So I'm wondering, from those of you who own one, what type of optic system are you using? Red dot or a low power scope. I currently have an Aimpoint H1 on it now but was wondering about maybe a low power scope. Or perhaps, having both scope and red dot and swap back and forth with QD mounts.

Thanks

If money is not an issue I would get a Vortex Viper PST in 1-4. Now if money is an issue I would get the Strike eagle 1-6 it is about $100 cheaper. You never know you might use it for hunting down the road or for other applications. Plus Vortex has an Lifetime warranty and not a limited lifetime warranty like a lot of manufacturers have.

Barrel length ?

For my 9", I go between an Aimpoint PRO (sometimes with a 3x magnifier}, for plinkin steel and punchin holes, and Nikon P300 SuperSub 2-7x32 for hunting, and stretchin her legs a bit.

On the 16 incher, I have a Vortex diamondback 4-16x42. It's way too much scope for the round, but, I enjoy a good look down the tube, and I had it layin around. All I've done is paper punchin with this rifle.

Any optic with some sort of BDC, or similar is definitely a plus for the rainbow trajectory of a heavy sub.

This has an 8" barrel and will not be used for hunting, just for plinking

I currently have an Aimpoint H1 on it and have toyed with the idea of a low power scope too

Thanks for the reply's

I run the 1.25-4 Leupold VR-R patrol. It would work great for subs. It has a hold over retical and turrets if you wanted to play some distance with subs. I use it to switch back a forth between subs and full power. Pretty nice scope..

Whatever you do, make sure you lap your rings to make sure they are concentric to the bore...you don't want to have any problems you know!
