Optic recommendations for a AR?

I'm new here have decided it's time to take my blah Sig M400 from stock to a coyote killing machine. Looking for recommendations on optics to put on it. Thinking light weight and magnification probably no higher than 10 as I don't plan on shooting it past 2-300 yards. Currently have a P223 in fixed 3, but looking at other options. Budget is negotiable as I am willing to save for the right one. Thanks for any insight you can provide.

Bushnell, burris, nikon, vortex, leupold and the list goes on from there .they all make good glass and a lot are in whatever price range you want I personally have one set up with a bushnell 1x4 for short range days and one set up with a 4x12 for longer range days it comes down to use and price and some of the cheaper ones work till you figure out what works for you then you can upgrade to what you want in the higher priced scopes.

Take a hard look at the Leupold Mark AR, in 3-9x40 Mil-dot. I can't say enough how good this scope is for the price. I had a Nikon Monarch 3-9x40 for 3 years and switched.

+1 except I prefer the standard plex. Very effective optic with nice features.

I like the illuminated green dot on my AR Mark Mod-1 1.5-4x. Cranked all the way down with both eyes open that is fast, very fast at close ranges.

Thanks for the recommendations, looking at the Leupolds now! Would the Redfield Revolution Tac be comparable to these or would it be considered a step down?

I am currently building my first AR and I went through a lot of these choices as well. I ended up with a 1:7 twist 18 inch barrel so I wanted some optics that were not only exceptional for coyote hunting, but also useful for some long range plinking, which I know the rifle will be more than capable of.

I liked the Leupold 3-9 a lot, but I ended up with this:

Weaver Grand Slam Tactical. Japanese glass, not the cheap Chineseade stuff. It's fairly compact, but weighs a touch more than the Leupold. However, the turrets and reticle are mil/mil (matching) and it is extremely clear at all settings. 3-10 should handle any situation the rifle ever sees. It was by far the best value I could find for the price.

Leupold VX-R.

Perfect cross hair thickness for low light yotes, excellent glass, light weight, good looks, good eye relief, excellent eye box, and the lighted red dot allows night hunting with ease and it's a leupold.

Here's my VX-R 2-7x33 LRV FireDot on my 16" AR-15.

Cabela's runs some models with a green dot. Or, I bet you could send it back to Leupold and get the color changed from red to green...?

You don't hardly ever see Steiner scopes anywhere. Or see them recomended for that matter. Maybe there is a reason for that. The best deal right now at that price point is the Metpro at cameraland. At $349 it's a great deal.
