Well, Sunday I ordered and brand new Bushnell Elite 3200 4x12 with the DOA 600 reticle for my Tikka.
When I got home from the Kickboxing Gym tonight my scope was at my gate waiting for me.
They offer free shipping with most orders and its not the bottom of the bucket shipping.....be here in a few weeks shipping.....Oh no its here and its only been 2 days.
Now thats what I call customer service thank you Optics Planet...

How were their prices? I noticed they had a particular model I've been shopping for cheaper than anyone else. Saving about 40 bucks.

Optics Planet has good, and bad service, depending on what items you order. They are not stocking dealers for many items, so they might drop ship or order in some "oddball" items but it might take a while. You hear some good and bad horror stories about Optics Planet. Generally the more popular items most people don't have problem with. Prior to becoming a dealer for such items, I used Optics Planet primarily to order rings, scopes, etc. I never had any bad experiences, but your mileage may vary.

It is somewhat complicated, especially ensuring you get the right product code rings, bases, or some of those types of items where they have 10-50 product codes on the same "page".

They do have quite a bit of "fluff" information on their pages as well which add to increased load time at the bottom. They do this for SEO/google marketing purposes but it seems quite excessive for the average consumer to look at.

Not sure about it being complicated...I found what I wanted and double checked the product code and even dropped a note on the order forms comment box to ensure I got what I ordered.
The right product showed up,don't see what the fuss is about.
Absolutely every company I have dealt with has some cons,Seems to me Joe Bob is adding some spin here a competitor maybe?
I'm just saying....
I paid the going rate on the scope I wanted the difference was I paid just that and no shipping nope not hidden fees either.
I check around and the 350.00 I paid for this scope is the going rate everywhere but they were mostly plus s&h.
I'm a hunter and first time customer of O.P. not a spokesman this is my true experience with this company and I'm happy to this point.

Im glad they were good to ya, but just because your order showed up doesnt mean they have good customer service. I ordered a new nikon scope from them and just like you said it showed up right away, I was stoked till I opened the box and found that the ARD cap was not in the box. I called to see bout sending it back, they assured me to just keep the scope and they would send the cap. Well to keep from going on and on, several worthless phone calls and dozens of emails. I finally got it over two months later.

And like joebob said its if they have it, I also ordered a sunshade for the same scope and its been backordered for two months now, that however is prob not there fault but just saying.

Fast shipping has nothing to do with customer service. While it is nice to receive your items promptly the customer service comes in when you use the phone to call in an order or have questions regarding products, returning an item or faulty/damaged goods. I ordered a simple neoprene holster, they sent the left hand model instead of right. 18 days later for an item that was "in stock" gives me a different feeling.

But glad you had a good experience receiving you item fast.

I ordered something from them and they gladly took my money over a month ago. The item is back ordered & is due to be in stock 01/07. I called CS and asked why they don't show an "in stock" on their website. No response... Two thumbs down from me and it will be my first and last purchase from them.

Optics planet has 1000X the optics/accessories selection we do, and I didn't say anything bad about Optics Planet, so no, I am not "spinning" anything. We are for the most part not direct competition with slightly overlapping product lines.

If you looked at the above posts, I said good things about OP. I've ordered from them before without a problem. I've even "drop shipped" an item through them to a customer because we were having problems getting the product through our distributors in a timely fashion. They had it in stock, and only threw a packing slip in. We lost a few dollars, but the customer got what they wanted as promised, and they came through in a pinch.

The squeeky wheel gets the oil, and no company is perfect. Every webstore and brick and mortar company has had their unhappy customers. I find their website slightly confusing at times with a ton of product codes on the same page. This is user feedback, not a retailer talking crap

Their "negative" reviews seem to pop up quite frequently (look at this thread as an example). They obviously do a huge scale of business, so you will have more occurrences due to the sheer volume, but they seem to fall short in many customers' eyes when things don't go peachy from the start and take weeks to resolve.

I've always had good luck with them. And they had a helluva deal not too long ago on a Celestron Spotting Scope w/ Tripod that I just couldn't beat.

Personnally,

I've had good success both with several Optic's Planet products/scopes and orders. I've found their Customer Service to be outstanding and responsive for a number of years. Now I do tend to agree their website sometimes is a hassle, but once I find what I'm looking for, they usually have it in stock, at a good price and I get it in my hands rather quickly.

As to commentary by any competitor of Optics Planet. I have no other connection to Optics Planet other than being a customer. Now I don't expect competitors to beat the drum in a competitor's behalf, but to say negative or suggestively negative things is kinda cheezy and tell me you are only trying to drum up business. Guess what friend, you just made my "no buy list." You'd been better off not saying anything!

I am sorry you feel that way, but, that's simply not the case. A retailer is still a consumer and buyer. I bought all my own "Christmas Gifts" from Sportsman's Guide (I'm in the buyer's member club even) and Cabelas. I could get deals as good as through my distributor with their holiday sales AND get discounts/free shipping. It ended up being cheaper to order through them. I've got nothing bad to say about any retailers, as I've never had any problems with any big or small retailer of firearms or accessories. We do not try to "beat our own drum". We treat people right, first and foremost. The rest comes naturally. We pay a fee to allow us to post on the forum in any sort of commercial way, which pays for you the consumer to use the forum free of charge. This doesn't make a retailer unable to make simple posts or constructive criticism. It's a forum, which is a community. Simply put, we don't try to come off in that fashion.

Honestly I don't see where JoeBob said anything that malicious.

I think we should be happy that we have so many options to buy from and to each their own.

I'm not saying they are the bomb, but good service so far....
Now if I misunderstood what you were trying to say then I am sorry,But it just sounded like you did a little spin on it so I stand corrected and apologize if I offended you or your staff.
Nothing I said was meant to get anyone riled up or get sour feelings going I just read the response of joe bob outfitters.
Seemed to me he was being a little suggestive in refering to fluff info. and google marketing being a little excessive and pointing out flaws in their site.
I may have read into the wording to far,but its there in print
my mistake....

Also In one of my responses I said "to this point I am happy with their service"
I hope I don't need to call them for any problems.

Frank

I have used them and never had a problem except right after I paid $319.00 for a scope I discovered it was on clearance at Natchez for over a $100 less. Thats my fault not theirs.

Joebob's post seemed fine to me, just an opinion. But since he's made it to someones no buy list, I will take his spot on the next group buy you have.
