Otter creek labs Hydrogen-L?

Looking at getting my first suppressor. The guy at the LGS is pushing, for lack of a better word, me towards the OCL Hydrogen-L. This will mostly be on a 308 bolt gun and 300 blk AR, occasionally on an 18" 223 AR. I don't think I'm really concerned very much with weight or length. Smaller would be better of course but I don't want to sacrifice sound reduction. This will be mostly for hunting and plinking. I think I'm going direct thread and maybe get another adapter for the 1/2"x28. Is this a good option or should I look at others?

What’s your criteria and budget?

Steel, I like the Resonator. Titanium I like the Thunderbeast.

If he was pushing product, it’s a crap shoot whether he was being helpful or not. You don’t get nothing for free, so there won’t be a miracle can out there. Size matters most.

Yeah, I don't know if "pushing"was the right way to put it. He seemed to genuinely want to be helpful. I just wondered what the consensus was on this particular can and if I should look at something else.

I'm needing it to basically be a do-it-all can for hunting with 223 AR to 300 blk to 308 bolt gun. Weight/length isn't as important to me as sound reduction at this point

Holy crap, that's a lot of information. I haven't had time to do nothing but skim through it. I take it you're a fan of the thunderbeast?

I've come to the same conclusion. I really thought I wanted a QD mount but the more I learned, it seemed like unnecessary expense and hassle.

Deep dive is an understatement...lol. A lot of the science hippie stuff is lost on me but it seems like the hydrogen-L compares with some of the best rifle cans out there. Admittedly, I just kinda hit the high points of the report so I may have missed some info.
Anyway, thanks very much for sending the link.

I’m a huge fan of thunderbeast for precision setups. So for my hunting rigs I use TBAC cans

With that said Ottercreek seems to make some nice cans at affordable prices. I want to get a polonium or 2 for my ARs

I have the Hydrogen L and am very pleased with it . Sound reduction is great! It's been on a 28 Nosler, 6.5 PRC, 6mm ARC (both bolt and Ar15), 16" 5.56, 22 Creedmoor and a 204 Ruger. All of wish are completely hearing safe and comfortable to shoot without ear-pro. Quieter than 22lr. Recoil reduction is also great. Had I not gone with the Otter Creek, I was looking at the DeadAir Nomad Ti and the TBAC Ultra 7 or 9

Blast from the past update:
I wound up going with the YHM Resonator 2. Took 42 days to get my stamp. I'm impressed with the sound reduction. I'm running it on a 10.5 300blk, an 18" 223 and an 18" 6.8spc. It came with a QD brake and I lucked up and bought 2 more cheap on ebay. None of my rifles have been tuned to run suppressed, none have adjustable gas blocks and I'm running the standard buffers and springs. They've all run fine so far but my only complaint is, I'm not a big fan of how much carbon fouling I get in the action and magazine. I'm stoked to do some more hunting with it.

I have the OCL Polonium for 5.56 and love it. It tamed an AR pistol and works great on my rifles.
As far as .308, I have the Diligent Defense Enticer L-TI and would highly recommend it. That said, if the OCL Hydrogen-L is a good as the Polonium I would also by it.
