Nice colors on that rascal! We get quite a few color phases here in NY. Yours would make a pretty hanging hide, for sure. Congratulations on the successful hunt.

Very nice looking rifle. It looks like about a 13-15 lb rifle. Did you use a tripod with the arca rail you have attached?

No rail attachment yet.
I use bog sticks and a turkey chair...been doing it this way for year's.

I guess I am accustomed to the weight as I have 3 more about the same.
I do like the MDT stocks, they are my favorite.

How do the 87gr shoot out the 8 twist? Have you tried any other grain?
I have been running that 8 twist for awhile.
It used to shoot 58g vmax well, then I went to 75 vmax and shot those for a few years (awesome coyote killer) now I'm on 87 vmax which kills just as good and carries more punch down range. It also likes 105 amax. I have always loaded my own and have never fired a factory round.

I guess what I am trying to say is that it has not been bullet picky. The only reason I have been switching is because the barrel is near the end of its life, and this is working for now.

In the new year it will be replaced.👍

I shoot a Rem. Varmint Special rebarreled with a Rock Creek 8.5 twist in a Choate Ultimate Stock. That 87 grn. is a hard hitter and very accurate. I use the 75 grn. Vmax in mine for pdogs. Accurate and very explosive.
