Yep thats Me! I own Class 3 weapons Mainly because it really
annoys the hell out of liberals,If i could hunt with them legally I would.Why do I feel the need to own such things?
Because I live semi-free country and owning a Machinegun or a silencer is the ultimate expression of that freedom if you ask me.And we all know how liberals Hate freedom.
 
WPH you have it figured out..we need to push as hard as we can on every front and meet every anti gun activist head -on, whether it is Jim Zumbo saying somehting stupid like this or someone trying to outlaw air rifles in city limits...it DOES NOT MATTER!! The anitgun left's ultimate goal is to confiscate ALL guns, not just the 'fringe' assault/automatic/whatever guns. That is the easy target now, and in several more left-congress-led years, maybe with a left President, the goal will shift to the next firearms ban. It is best to keep them tied up on fringe issues as WPH stated.
For example, I shouldn't really care that some states are trying to outlaw .50 claiber guns, becasue I'm just not interested in them, or in hunting with them. But I'm real damn interested in them being legal, kind of like a canary in a coal mine. It is a black and white issue, and there is no room for debate on our side, becasue you can bet the farm that the liberal antigun side is united and has a clear vision and goal of complete firearm removal from the US public. We can hang together, or hang separately.
The very best you can do is attack every antigun statement/policy/politician head on and JOIN THE NRA if you haven't.

I think Zumbo SHOULD have come up with a different spin to get his point across, out of RESPECT to fellow hunter's. Something like:

"I was totally unaware that semi auto AR type weapons had become so popular amongst varmint/yote hunter's. I personally, don't feel it's as sporting to hunt this way, and would urge those of you who use them to reconsider."

To me, that's alot more respectful. He should not even say "hunters" and "terrorists" in the same breath, as I find that correlation a bit offensive. We all know damn well that if an invasion occurred in our country, WE the hunter's would be side by side with the military, fighting it out in the streets using our personal firearm's.
We would NOT be seeing a bunch of liberal "Gun Grabber's" out there fighting, so frankly, they can kiss my arse, in a manner of speaking.

All that stuff aside, I would hunt coyote with such a weapon, but in Pennsylvania it's forbidden. NO big deal to me, really. As long as I can own one for personal use/protection, I'm OK with not hunting it. I agree that it's probably wise to keep a lower profile as a hunter who uses those type of firearm's. In the end, it does no good for YOUR RIGHT to keep and bear those arms, if you want to walk around all camo'ed up, carrying what the general public conceives to be a weapon used in combat.

I am fortunate enough to have a concealed carry permit in my state, and I'm VERY particular about how I carry that sidearm. I see many people who don't care, or even "print" on purpose while carrying. I view them as "bush league" wanna be hardasses, who totally don't understand how fortunate they are to have such a LEGAL right to carry a CONCEALED sidearm for personal protection in today's society. I make every effort to carry undetected, because I believe that the weapon is no good to me if people know I have it. The element of surprise is a huge advantage in certain situations. If the bad guy knows you have it, he will simply shoot you first!

While my last paragraph had nothing to do with the Zumbo story per se, it was written to stress a point...Just because YOU CAN, doesn't always mean you should flaunt it. You guy's might be better served trying to keep a lower profile, even though you don't legally have to. Why take a chance scaring some liberal who may have more political pull than you know, and losing you're right to keep/hunt/bear those firearm's? They outnumber us heavily, and there is great power in number's.
BTW: it's also wise to join the NRA or SCI, if you value your right to hunt, and keep/bear any type of firearm's.
