Outfoxed Woodpecker Decoy ????'s

I would like some more information on this decoy? I checked out the website, however, it still leaves me wondering. First thing I'd like to know is how is it attached to the tree or bush? Secondly, how loud is the decoy? Any experience's with it both positive and negative?

I'm mostly interested because of the size, and my favorite predator calls/sounds are of the bird nature. I think this would be a good decoy for my purposes.

Thanks,

Steve

I have been useing one but have not called in anything but hawks and owls. The batteries last about 1hr and 15 min. I use rechargeables and just change them every 2 stands. It makes very little noise if any at all. It has a clamp on the bottom that you clamp to a limb but most of the time it will hang upside down like a bird is caught in something. It will fit in your pocket but you need to take the wing off and the battery out so the motor won't come on. This decoy looks like the best for a moble hunter and looks more real than anything else. Hope this helps.

This is a good decoy. Light weight, compact, easy to carry and store. I hang this above my FoxPro and let the woodpecker sing. If they don't come they are not in the area. Good cat decoy as well. Hoped to have a pic posted on here a while back but my camera is on the blink.

I use it most of the time and it will work at keeping the attention of dogs & cats so that you can make the shot. I have let dogs stand there and look at it for a couple of minutes to watch their response and usually the just look at it and than try to move down wind. Cats have gotten real close at times and usualy lepard creep in. The people that sell this product are easy to deal with and have taken care of me when I broke it! ( THANKS Greg Hueb of
Outfoxed Products, Inc.). Short Cummings is battery life which I think is two short. The Product does work!

bird dog told it like it is. It's a great little decoy! The coyotes just stare at it like their hypnotized! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif kyray

Works for me. And fun to watch them put the sneak of your set up. But, IMO its a pain to carry. Too fragile to put in the back pack and I don't want to keep assembling the wing every time I want to use it. So, I keep it in a small cardboard box with some bubble wrap and use a big rubber band to keep it buttoned up. Very light but it takes up a bit of room in the back pack. Still, lots of fun to use.

it has worked well for me,but I get more out of my batteries than an hour! I do use other decoys just for a change especially hunting an area where critters have been shot at and missed!

The decoy is great! We use it when we can find a tree to clip it in (tough to do in the prairie) or when we can clip it on a fence. Works good in brushy draws. You do have to be carefull with it while transporting it from stand to stand. One way to protect it is to put in one of those BIG plastic mugs with a screw on lid.

Thanks for the info. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif
