Fed workers not paying taxes is like:
Tampons in elementary boy's bathrooms.
Bio male playing in female sports
Letting ANYONE into the country without an ID
Working (on taxpayer funds) to prevent an illegal from being deported
A climate change activist burning an ev.
Taking an oath to uphold the constitution and than voting to weaken the constitution.

I see there is a Republican US Senator from Iowa (Of whom votes like a democrat about 50% of the time.) who says she is going to introduce some bills to reform and to audit the federal bureaucrats at the IRS. She's really serious about fixing it this time all of the sudden. LOL What a joke.

I haven't read the article or watched the video, but I am guessing that it's misleading.

Federal employees are subject to a background check every five years. Included in this is a credit report and a search of any unpaid debt. Unpaid debt is grounds for termination and they do act on it.

A lot of you talk down Federal workers all the time, but the fact is that Federal workers range from Park Rangers, trash collectors, doctors, etc. Federal workers are just normal people who happen to be employed by the government. Take your frustrations out on the politicians. They are ones that are ruining your lives, not the local park ranger.

switch to a flat tax. everybody pays the same rate. no loop holes, no deductions, no returns to file.
if a corporation is paying for your home, car, all living expenses, that is counted as income and you pay the same rate as everybody else.

its come right out of the pay check like it does now.

Flat tax or nix income taxes altogether and do a federal sales tax.

Repeal NAFTA and GATT and bring back all the domestic production and manufacturing that has been dispersed throughout the world slowly incrementally...shut down the private fed reserve bring back the gold standard.

Make America an economic powerhouse again...

ETA: Repeal all the unconstitutional federal bureaucracies.

If what you post is correct, why hasn't something been done? If IRS knows they haven't paid, why are they still there? Just to have salary so they can pay? Or is it the 'buddy' system? I'm not against workers that work and have real work to do. Or to put it another way, many appear to be ineffective in doing their work. Friend just went to work for the Fed, in IT and wondered why they still used 80's and older SW.

First I want to make a correction on my post. Not all federal employees are subject to background checks every five years. It depends on your job and security clearance. My post was supposed to begin with “many”, I don’t know how it got chopped off. Probably from using my phone to post.

Getting back to your question. You really think that federal employees are given a “pass” from the IRS just because they are federal employees? No offense, but if you do you have no clue.

I know several federal employees that got fines and had to pay back taxes whenever their tax preparer got caught and charged with improperly doing people’s taxes. Not a single one of them got this fantasy break of yours.

As for your buddy. It’s probably because a lot of the equipment being used has to be passed by congress or some sort of government board. Again. Which is more than likely ran by politicians.

Okay.
I just sat down and watched the video that was posted. I have no idea what the IRS does to their employees, but if they are delinquent in any payments of any kind they should be held accountable just like anyone else. I do know that within the federal bureau that I work in I am subject to a very intensive "background" check which includes a credit report and all of my finances every five years. They even talk to my neighbors. If I am delinquent on any bills including taxes I can be terminated and yes, they will do it.

As I mentioned above, about five years ago several of my coworkers were using the same tax office to prepare their income taxes and this office was found to have been unknowingly to my coworkers putting in false numbers so they would get more back on their taxes. The "office" was doing this to keep their business. Whenever the IRS audited the "office" they audited all of their customers. Due to the IRS basically saying that my coworkers should have checked over their numbers before they signed the papers they were also head liable. They were fined and had to pay back whatever extra they were given. There are also other instances where I know people in my agency that got fired due to having their finances ruined due to say a nasty divorce. My agency won't even hire you if you have bad credit or outstanding debts. In fact, that is the number one reason a potential employee is not hired in my agency.

As I stated in the post above, what "gets me" is how many of you on here talk down and look at federal workers as being bad people that need to be fired. Whenever a lot of the things you do and enjoy everyday weren't be able to even take place if it wasn't for a federal worker somewhere. The problem lies within the politicians, not workers.

Just like your buddy. My agency goes through the same thing. EVERY "tool" and/or "test" that we use HAS to be approved by a board and the courts (RED TAPE) so this takes YEARS to be approved. By the time they get approved for us to use them there are already new tools and tests that are 10x better.

You really think that the SS administration wants to still be using outdated software? Again, the politicians control things like this, not the workers.

Most specialized government workers actually make LESS as a government employee than they could doing the same job in the private sector. The reason that a lot of them chose to make less money with the government is because of the stability and in some cases the incentives of say a "good" retirement plan. Without these incentives there is NO reason for these people to work for the federal government. If I go to GOOGLE right now and type in "is $xxxx a good salary in the US" (which is my salary) this is the response. "It's a decent salary for a single person". Decent? Hell, what do you want me to do? Do my job and have to draw food stamps too?
