Overrated /over priced rifle scopes

I looked through kahles cl multi zero today, ziess conquest, leupold v111, swarovski and nighforce. All at power setting of 12 I was looking at a sign, the only scope I could read the sign with was nightforce. Nightforce will be my next scope! The clarity was amazing!

you would not believe how many predators i have shot in open fields on a 1/4 moon night with my nightforce with out the aid of a spotlight.my swarovski is awesome.the nightforce is better.

What is good enough? I own both VX-II's and VX-III's and I can tell the difference. With the VX-II I see a clearly defined PD at 300-400 yds. With the VX-III I have better color rendition and a bit more clarity. With my buddy's Nightforce I think I can see individual hairs. But, I shoot and HIT my targets as well with my VX-II's as I think I would with a NF. If I was going to spend mega-bucks on optics I would put it into a premium set of binoculars, I spend a lot more time looking through them than I do a scope.

Well, I guess I'm one of those guilty of putting lower cost scopes on nice rifles, or I should say, on some of them.

So am I. I have mostly Burris and a couple Nikon, but I would have so say( go ahead and laugh) is a Mueller 4-16x50 sportdot. Its cheap but I love the superfine red dot. Ok Im ready for the jabs. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif

Although I have two Nightforce NXSs I completely agree with this statement. We all spend way more time looking through them than the scope.
