PA HUNTERS

The wind was terrible last night, made 2 stands and the boys got too cold even though they were covered with a blanket. Didnt see anything. My oldest DylanD and I are going to make a stand this afternoon down in this valley I know and seen sign to get out of the wind, maybe the coyotes are doing the same thing.

It was 14 this morning with a 30 mph wind. I should have done what the coyotes did, stayed in bed. I did get a chance to try my new mittens. Hands were toasty all morning. I'll wait until the wind stops, maybe tomorrow, and head out again. 7+ inches of snow in the woods and a little over a foot in the fields. Not a single track all morning.

JUST GOT IN FROM ANOTHER SEE NOTHING HUNT. I THOUGHT IT WOULD GET BETTER WITH THE SNOW AND THE COLD WEATHER WE'VE BEEN HAVIN. WE DID GET INTO A PACK OF YOTES ON TUESDAY, BUT HAD TO GET PERMISSION TO HUNT THEM . SO WE'LL BE AFTER THEM THIS WEEKEND. GOOD LUCK..

I USE A BANDIT 21 VOLT BELT LIGHT WITH RED AND OR BLUE FILTER LENS. I'M GETTING VERY DISCURIGED.

Damn Red....maybe you are scaring them with that light. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif Does that thing leave any hair on them when you burn em? Seriously though, I have heard it's been a slow one so far. I'll be out in Mid Feb to give it a go. Hope it picks up by then.

I REALLY DON'T THINK I'M BURNIN EM. WHEN I SEE EYES I ONLY KEEP THE HALO ON EM. BESIDES THAT I HAVE 10 DIFFERENT POWER SETTINGS ON THE LIGHT. I'VE NEVER SCARED ANY OFF WITH IT.

you must not be looking hard enough. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif I took a few trapping and 6 hunting this year. Mabe you over hunted a piece of land last year and had a hard time killing them this year. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif

we had a really good year for foxes in my area. about every weekend we went out we had got a few or had something come in. i think the foxes in my area are on the rise but the coyotes dont seem to be coming around as much

I'M GLAD SOMEONE IS HAVING LUCK. AS SOON AS THE WEATHER GOT GOOD FOR HUNTIN I WENT BACK TO WORK. THAT SUCKS. GOOD LUCK TO ALL. AND BY THE WAY I'LL TRADE YOU YOTES FOR FOX ANY DAY.

do any of you fayette county folks do any good in casparis or dunbar. mainly looking for places to hunt coyote. have tried a few in the lowlands but am looking for some new areas.

cvillehunter, very slim pickins in the dunbar mountain area.I hear there is plenty of coyotes in the virgin run lake area, but its hard to get permission to hunt down that way.Your not far from me,maybe we can hook up and hunt sometime.
