I live in Harrisburg and I'm new to calling...I have access to alot of farm/mountain lands in Northern Dauphin County...I spotted a red fox and I've been told there is a black coyote in the area. I wouldn't mind having a hunting partner. Drop me an email at aubienittany@yahoo.com
I seen my first LIVE yote the other day while setting up for woodchuck hunting. He was roaring across a field about 550+ yards away. Looked like he had a purpose. Less than 10 minutes later i hear a single rifle shot! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif Dead Yote?? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Dont worry they are coming North fast. I took 3 years off to spend time with new daughter , when I started back 2002 got 5 in traps and called 1 in and killed. I am about 20 minutes south of carlisle on 81. Also spoke to a fellow about 20 minutes above Harrisburg and there are plenty there also. They seem to pop up all over my trapline. Selling off all my 1.65s and going to 2s and 3s next season. All 6 were taken on farmland. This season I am concentrating on them alittle more to see just how many there are around. Later < Jim
I am curious about your pop as wel. From what I have read on this board everyone in Pa. is having the same kinda luck I am having, as far as very low(actually none) responded to the call goes. I have tried diligently last Nov Dec and part of Jan to call in a yote. All i managed was 3 greys. As for our pop. I probably saw 10-15 last hunting season while hunting or either driving to and from work. I have counted like 10 roadkills on the 22 miles on my way to workand 8 of those miles are a bridge going over the delta so 10 coyotes over 14 miles of road. In other words I think we are loaded. Just curious to compar notes on Pa's relative pop.
Badshot , you show mw a bunch of callwise coyotes and I will show you some trap dumb ones! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif They may be hard to call but most cant even figure out what they are supposed to do at a set East of Carlisle , would that be the Gardners area? Not on my line but have some friends up that way. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif
