Pac-Nor vs Lilja??

I like all the info I have been reading about Pac-Nor barrels but my biggest problem is contacting them. I always get a recording. I looked on Lilja's site and they offer a match grade barrel for about the same money. My problem there is lack of information on actual people that use them. Mainly you folks here on P.M. Sooo... Do any of you folks shoot a Lilja or had much experience with them? Looking at 20 calibers in a 12 twist for a 20 Tac build. Or does anyone have a better choice than the above mentioned? Thanks!!

I have Lilja barrel on my 17 TAC. LOVE IT! Its not the 20 TAC you was wanting to hear about, but it still is a Lilja.
Wonder what the wait time is for them.

I have both along with Shilen and Douglas. To say one is better than the other would be silly. They are all quality barrels that shoot extremely well. Availability (time frame) would be my biggest concern. I know Lilja is 12 weeks out on their orders and Pac Nor isn't far behind. Lilja does keep some in stock and their extra barrel list is always worth checking out.

Six of one, half dozen of the other IMO.

Try calling about seven (Pacific Time).
Penny's the best, but she's awfully busy.

You cant go wrong with any of the above barrels, and I would add Bergara and Brux to your list... I had a .308 with a Pac-Nor and loved it... never shot a Lilja but have heard nothing but good reports.

I only have one Lilja but it is an AR in .204 Ruger, but in a 1-10 twist. It shoots really well with a varity of powders. I am still trying to use up 500 rounds of 34 grain dogtowns, but plan to shoot 40 grain Vmax.

With you all the way on that. Some of the gunsmiths that I have spoken to echo the same sentiment.

lilja, best well kept secret in a gas gun. But I have heard great stuff on PN also. Krieger also but more $. Chambered in a 5.56 you can expect 5-6K rounds through the Krieger, 4K through the Lilja. Not sure on the PN. But I bet all these barrels can outshoot 99.9% of shooters. You just need a good plumber to screw it together or it wont make a difference on which barrel. Best of luck.

Lots of advice from others probably all good. A few years ago I was in the market for a barrel and knew about as much as you did.

I ended up going with Krieger and have no regrets. I expected the rifle to be more accurate which it is but the biggest surprise was cleanup.

The Krieger is so easy to clean that it's scary. If I suddenly needed a new barrel now I'd go back to Krieger again. It wasn't an easy choice but what I chose works well enough for me that I'd go back.

But, I've also seen people buy a quality after market barrel only to have the person doing the work mess it up. Can't remember where I saw it but it was on one of the forums about someone having a new Krieger barrel that just kept fouling which surprised me. Turned out the person that did the final work cut the chamber badly.

Either barrel will suit your needs well. I have Pac-Nor, Lilja, Krieger and yes Adams&Bennett barrels on my guns. They all shoot well. The premium barrels are hand lapped and don't fowl as much and are easier to clean than the A&B barrel. On my F class rifles I have Krieger barrels. The A&B barrel was for a T-38 Ariska build where I didn't want to spend a lot of money, but was pleasently surprised with the accuracy.

I've got Lilja barrels on rifles from .223 to .358 and they all shoot about the same...about the same hole. Best barrels I have ever shot.

PAC nor has excellent customer service I know cause I had two 6mm barrels and neither of them would shoot they replaced the first one and installed the second one and then they sent me my money back now I have a lilja and I don't know what kind of customer service they have because my 243 is shooting one hole groups hope that helps

I have owned and/or installed them all...either barrel is fantastic and both are great folks to deal with. Last one I got was a Pac-Nor and told 9 weeks...it turned into 12 but the barrel is perfect in every respect.
