take your time when placing the blue painters tape cuts on the gun...random pattern and just go with it.

Pretty much the same scenario...

Trip to Wally world for Camo Krylon... Added a can of gray stone for tree branch effect. And, a little John Deere green for pine needles.

Also had a fifty cent paint brush I forgot to toss in there.

Leaf patterns were compliments of the garage floor. Rolled up masking tape and stuck to the back side.

Taped off all moving parts of action to try to eliminate sticking, and wear on the paint job. Likewise, not knowing if I was going to keep this and not wanting to have to clean paint out of the checkering, I taped off all checkering.

Not wanting to affect my sight picture, I also taped off the top of the rib.

-- Layed down a coat of brown.
-- Put the fan on it and allowed to dry.
-- Taped off small branches.
-- Layed down a coat of dark green and began collecting leaves off the floor.
-- Once dry taped leaves all over it.
-- Shot the coat of pale green.
-- Allowed to dry.
-- Taped off larger branches and sprayed, allowed to dry... (the Stone takes a while!!)...
-- Got out the brush and painted in the bright green and black highlights.
-- Allowed to dry and started pulling leaves and tape off.

The gray stone adds a cool effect, it has a raised rough texture to it, while throwing about half a dozen different colored specks into one coat of paint. Not sure how durable it will be, but it's close to a lot of tree barks in color, and would also work nicely for snow camo as well.

Just my rattle can paint job. I put down some black Rustoleum primer first then stripped the rifle with dark earth, dark green, light green, and tan. Then I took some grasses and weeds, laid them over the rifle and just alternated the colors. The thing I like the most about it is it has a pretty good shadow effect which is why it seems to look different in every picture with the different lighting.

I just done this LB AR for a friend! Base coat of desert tan, then dabbed (with a sponge) with brown, and black. Turned out ok,and blends into the brush well! Ron

The only place my paint has wore is the bolt handle, stock grip, and the forearm where i always carry it if its not over my shoulder on the sling. As long as you properly prep you surfaces you shouldn't really have any problems.

I'm really happy with the way mine turned out and it was simple. lightly sanded, Wiped it down with rubbing alcohol. Pulled the bolt and mag. Stuffed cotton balls where I didn't want paint. Especially inside the scope caps. Some tape on the scope adjustment and caps. Ear plug in the muzzle. Used Krylon paint. Sprayed it kaki brown and hit it with a hairdryer (gives it a duller finish). Cut bristles off a broom and held them against the gun while I sprayed with a darker brown krylon. Hair dryer, krylon flat clear coat, hair dryer. Took less than an hour start to finish. Nice to not worry about rust as much too.
