I don't think the the VX-III 1.75 X 6 is an adjustable objective (parralax adjustable) scope.
Neither focusing the rear (ocular) lens or eye relief has anything to do with parralax.
The ocular lens focuses on the reticle (crosshairs) only. Eye relief is just how far your eye has to be from the ocular lens to see the whole picture.
To focus the ocular, run the lens all the way out, hold the scope (on the rifle or not) on something far away (clouds work). Look at the clouds (not through the scope) to get your eye focused on infinity, and then look through the scope. Adjust the lens in 1/2 turn at a time, repeating the "outside the scope eye focus thing" and only looking through the scope for a couple of seconds at a time, until the crosshairs are in focus.
I believe the scope is set parralax free at 150YDs. Run the scope up to 6X and look at something 150YDs away. Holding the scope still, move your head a little from side to side and up and down. If the object you had centered in the crosshairs stays centered, there is no parallax.
If the object at 150YDs moves relative to the crosshairs when you move your head (with the scope/rifle locked still), then you have a problem and need to call Leupold.
