I recently tried out a PARD NV007 A Digital Night Vision Monocular HD 1080P IR Hunting Camera with WiFi Function (link below)
It is NV and also records video, pictures and audio. Clips onto the rear of your existing daylight scope. Cost around $500 so I took a shot.
Assembles easy, and can be removed with a click and twist to be used as a hand held unit or to used your scope with out it. Also works thru wifi to your smart phone and has digital zoom.
For $500 i am very pleased with how it functions.
In addition you can shut the nv off and still use a red light to record in full color. (NV is in B/W)

I gave it to my Croatian hunting guard, because if I go hunting in Croatia, I go out with him only at night.
In the first days of July I shot a hog (150 lbs) at 70 yards. At the end of January with the old model mounted on the same Tikka T3 varmint cal. 300 W.M. of the gamekeeper, we had taken a hog of almost 330 lbs at 180 yards. It is a fairly easy to use Chinese device, with an excellent quality / price ratio.
