COYKILL

I have a Mossberg 835 and what do you like better for coyote hunting the Patternmaaster Extended range ported or the Carlsons dead Coyote choke tube

Depends on the scattergun,I have two Pattern Masters that shoot the Dead Coyote rounds better than the Carlsons does in my 11-87 and My Benelli M-2.My buddy has a Super 90 Benelli and the Carlson is the choke for that shotgun. I am in no way impuning the Carlsons brand,I have several of thier chokes for crows and love em,I would not hesitate to use them in the future for my shotgunning needs, its just that for those two guns, using that load the Pattern Master is the choke.I also tried the Kicks,Remington and Benelli chokes when patterning for coyote.

I have found that my Carlson doesn't shoot any different than my factory tubes do. Patternmaster's chokes have a very unique stud system, allowing the tube to really grab ahold of the wad as it goes through the choke. This results in a very tight pattern. If you shoot a buckshot that has a wad, such as Federal Premium 4buck, it can't be beat!

i was shooting the nitro turkey remington loads i believe number 5 shot out to 50 yards and had quite a few pellets in a 8 inch circle. i havent tried my 4 buck yet nut i tried a couple other rounds.

the same circle size but different paper i shot the winchester 2/34 00 buck shot at 32 yards and only had 1 of 9 pellets in it! then i tried the 3 inch oo buckshot mags out of it and up to i believe 35 yards had 8 of 15 pellets in the circle.

i ahvent tried the 4 buck as i only have 2 shells left! i ordered more shells from sportsman guide should be here in a couple days!

Most extended chokes have a method to retard or strip the wad from the shot column.

The Carlson's .727 tube should be here tomarrow I hope and if I have time after work before dark I want to try it. Gun is cleaned and ready.
