Pawn Shop Einstein!

I agree with the prices of guns at pawn shops. BUT...I have found a few good deals. The latest one being a stainless Ruger Super Black Hawk with a 7 1/2" barrel in 44 Mag. It came with a Leupold FXII 2x20 on it. I bought it for $375 out the door! I thought that was a pretty good deal.

I also got a Remmy 788 in 222 and a Sako Riihimaki heavy barrel, also in 222. They were also REAL good deals.

Heres how it works, Pawn shops dont want your guns, they are afraid if they loan you too much you wont come back and pick it up, going rate is 20%, at a 250 loan, thats 50 bucks a month you need to pay to keep it alive, if you dont come back and they have to sell it, and it takes 6 months to sell they figure, 6 months at 50 dollars a month plus what they loaned, not pretty. ed
 
the Pawn Shop I frequent is pretty good about gun knowledge. One of the guys don't know much and admits it, the other one is pretty good on ARs and pistols and fair on other guns.
I normally get good prices in used stuff, like cost plus 10%. They let my wife have it for cost. We both worked with them before thy started the pawn shop. You can see they like my wife more than me.
Their thoughts are, they would rather sell stuff in 2 days for $10 profit rather than hold it for a year to make $50.

No, never have and I have been ridin em since 84..

KTM parts are easy to get, but they are more expensive, therefore you have to order them.

Should have told him that Dunlap makes an after market KTM replacement called a 756 cheap tires but they might get me through if you give me a good price. Guys not hijacking but my Son is just out of racing and as we were getting out they were introducing tubeless tires. Just wondering how those were working on Dirt Bikes with Rim locks?
 
I have a good local dealer and he has most parts.. Otherwise you can do mail order from a few good palces in the US.. Cycle Hut comes to mind. Elite Motors in Loveland Co, is very good as well.. Rocky Mountain ATV has a ton of after market stuff..
 
Hows this for high prices. Local pawn shop has a 9mm High Point pistol with a $25 laser sight... $450.00 I think someone fell and bumped their head.
 
I forget where my buddy ended up gettin parts, Dennis Kirk motorsports maybe, I always kept a Honda or Suzuki so it was never an issue for me.

700$ for an Adl 30-06! I picked mine up near mint for 385$. Outrageous
 
I've had some similar experiences in pawn shops, but I've also had experiences like that in regular old gun shops as well. Recently I was checking out some handguns at a local dealer and spotted a Beretta Model 21 Bobcat in .22 LR. The guy behind the counter started telling me all about it and it's features when I interrupted him and told him I was very familiar with the gun because I had one just like it in .22 short. He told me that no such pistol existed. I told him I was certain that it did and that I owned one. He smirked, rolled his eyes and did every thing possible to show his scorn toward me.

So the next time I was hanging out with his boss, a good friend of mine, I told him about it. He said he wasn't aware that Beretta made that model either and asked me if I would show it to him. I did and he said he was going to inquire about it with the employee. The next time I was in the store he looked pretty sheepish.

i have noticed that the idiotes always are the first to open there mouth and the least likly to shut up long enuff to learn something.just my exp.
 
Well, to retract just a bit. I went into a pawn shop (local) and they had a Martin Super Diablo recurve on the wall. Walked out of the store with it.....$80 bucks! 50 pounder in about 90% condition- Merry Christmas to me!!

Gun shops can be just as bad sometimes.I was looking for an AR 30 in .338 lapua and heard of one in stock in a shop about 2 hours from my house.I had an AR15 I wanted to trade in on it.The guy only offered me 450 for it.I told him I could not do that but thanks anyway.He said that was a good offer cause most he could get was 500.I brought it home and put it on gunbroker and it brought 1250.A friend found me the 30 in Arz and even with shipping I came out way better than what the shop guy offered.I never did understand why he tried to hold me up so bad.He was supposed to be a good guy.
 
A guy I know is not very knowledgeable about guns but likes to shoot. He took a Remington 700 7mm Remington Magnum to a gun shop to have a new factory stock put on and a scope mounted. Paid them $50 to do the job. He got it home and called me and said he could not close the bolt all the way. He brought it to me and I was thinking they had maybe switched the screws in the stock.

Nope they had the scope base screws switched and it was hitting the bolt. If he would have gotten the bolt closed and touched off a round I am afraid to think what might have happened.
