ok so i've had the crosman storm xt for 2 years now and the scope that comes with it sucks and im getting a new one because it wont stay sighted in! But the scope rings are like an ar15 type deal but the mount it self is like indentions into the rifle. And the rings always come loose do you guys know any better scope rings that will fit this gun?

I don't believe the mount listed above will work for you, it's a 14mm dovetail mount and all air rifles I know of use a 11mm mount...the style itself is good though. I use the RWS mount on all mine including my Benjamin Discovery and they work great

A highly recognized quality air rifle scope at a good price is the Hawke brand...bang for your buck they are tough to beat nowadays. Depending on budget this scope is a nice one or if you don't mind spending a little more their IR air rifle scopes have etched reticles which are even more clear just make sure you get an adjustable objective so you don't have a lot of error on close targets and a mil dot really stretches your range after you get used to it

What I meant to said is using a one piece mount, bkls are one of the best in my opinion, but there are several brands that makes them.

Here a picture of the one used on my Hw 97

A little blue loctite helps too. As does having the scope mount anti walk pin in the receiver hole. It took me a while to figure that last one out.

An airgun can trash most scopes in a very short time, I got an R9 that came with a 4-16x Bushnell Banner or Trophy, it started jumping around and not adjusting correctly within 100 shots.

As rescue said, the anti walking pin, and rings that have double screws on each side.

I did a bunch of looking at what is used for airgun field competition to get an idea what holds up.

A sleeper great quality 6-20x is the Swift Premier Airgun scope that could be had online for about $225, that was a few years ago. They are super clear and hold up to airgun use, also the adjustments are repeatable and accurate and can be used for windage and trajectory changes as needed.

I can't speak for Swift's lower priced scopes, but their Premier line is very good in 6-24x and 8-32x and can be had in the $225 range online. I've had several for .17 HMR's and been very happy with them, and I'm an Elite 4200 type of guy.

on air gun scopes ( except for pcp's) the reticles have to be braced on both sides, unlike powder burners, which only have to be braced on one side.

Take a look at the Hawke air gun scopes. They seem to be holding up well. I have a 4x on my Benjamin Nitro and have ordered a 3-9 for my Remington 581L rimfire. I like the glass that much at the price point.
