Hey nut you got that right. I am looking forward to seeing my two little people get out and bag their first's. But I have several years to wait for that. Right now I'm just working on getting them to respect the firearm. Trynity seems to be getting it but Jared keeps getting me with his Buzz Lightyear Lazer.

This thread has a good feeling to it. Thanks fellas.

Out here in Colorado we also have some monster whitetails on the eastern plains, we usually run into during pheasant season, corn and milo fed. Unfortunately, mostly private property. As far as passing one up for next year, well there might not be a next year since all deer licences are by draw. I've been fortunate to fill my last two mule deer licences, 3pt(6pt for you eastern boys /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif ) and a forkhorn, didn't taste the difference in the jerky /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif Don't get me wrong, I would like the opportunity to hunt an area where I could be picky, but until then, if it's legal and my aim is true, it's going into the freezer.

Iron Pony,
I've heard of the Ridge, down in the southwestern part of the state. An outdoor show out of St Louis vidioed a huge deer that would have beat out the 204 4/8 p&y record. They watched him all summer ,had their tag on him until a car got him.A friend of mine works for the DNR told me that there has been two killed by cars this summer that would have been bigger than the 204.Wish one would walk by me.

Is it legal and will it fit in my freezer? Honestly I kind of feel sorry for it. Pretty darned ugly too but I bet you could cut those ugly assed antlers into a bunch of nice calls. I suppose the antlers would be worth something then.

By the way, whats the tag all about?

Can't prove it but but this guy is an old stud in a deer farm. At least that's the story. Just think how good it must feel to shed those things. What would you guess they weight? 15-20 pounds?

The tag is cause that buck was raised in a pen and it's semon is probably sold all over the country. They raise deer like cattle these days all over the country.

I'm guessing that if I shot him, he would fall head first. Not on his tail.

I know a old lady in church that wears a hat like that.

Are you sure he did not come out of the ground and that is a tree on his head?

When those things fall off, he stand 3 inches higher.

Woodrow sorry about the delay I mostly hunt in Dickens and Motley Counties but do have some other places. I'll be going to my lease in about two weeks and start feeding and may shoot a hog or two.

Dead Eye,

Are these leases or connections? I have been trying to locate a place up in that country for next season (this season I got too late a start) that has both mule deer and wt's......mainly mule deer. It would be a haul from where I live, but if it was a good price I would be willing to drive a few times a year.

woodrow they are leases and connections there is one at Matador that I need to check on. It is real heavy masqite but one corner is a weat field I see deer there all the time. We could pick it up at a low cost and we can camp at our old farm that is only about 1.5 miles away. I grew up in this area as a kid and know most of the land owners and ranchers.

Shoot Long, Shoot Stright and don't MISS or don't tell anyone
