phantom predator call

I bought a phantom predator call by extrem dem. a couple years ago. just found this site and love it so far.but i have noticed that everyone talkes about the foxpro call and no mention of the brand i have.Did i wast my money?
 
Im not trying to dis anyone's product here, but I bought one and returned it immediately. I bought the predator and moose cards. In a nutshell, the sounds were pretty poor. The added sound effects of rustling leaves and hops were pretty funny to hear, I doubt they are very effective at adding any realisim to the call. The unit itself is well built, I just didnt care for the sounds. The loops were very short and repetive, like a broken record and unlike what an animal would actually make. Another example is you have to push the button each time for 1 moose grunt; it get's kinda old! Anyway, bought a foxpro and Im quite impressed so far, the extra money was well spent. Hope this helps. Oh, and for what its worth, I've read that the Phantom's deer and turkey cards sound better and get good results.

You can do a search for the Phantom, there is plenty of old posts about them. Just click on search, look in the electronics forum and type in phantom...
 
I have a Phantom caller and am a little disappointed in the speaker, it could be a little bigger. Sound quality I thought was pretty good, a few yotes have gone to yote heaven when I have used it though. I have thought about the wireless model, but that's a lot of money and the speaker doesn't look any bigger. I think I will wait on the wireless model for now.
 
My experience would indicate that there are smarter choices... much smarter. I would compare them in quality to Cass Creek but probably 8 to 10 times the price.
