Phenom photo/video download to PC

Upgraded my Hogster 35 to a Phenom for scanning but am having an issue.
Says to connect the Phenom to PC via USB-C cable to download videos and images. I connect the charging cable but I didn't think it was a USB-C but seems to be the only option. Doesn't show on the PC. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks

(Hogster App appears to work fine)

The Phenom uses the micro usb to charge and download pictures/videos. Plug the usb into the Phenom and computer. Turn the computer on, and when you turn the Phenom on, the computer should recognize it and install the software automatically.

Well I had hope, but didn't work on PC so I tried it on a laptop and it didn't work on it either.
Not sure what the problem is. They are windows 10. Likely something stupid but its making me feel stupid.

Occasionally my computer will not recognize my Super Hogster. I have to shut off the SH, unplug it, & start from scratch.

So maybe don't give up after a try or two is all I can offer.

If you are trying it on two different windows computers and neither works, it is most likely the cable. As DoubleUp states, for the Phenom, it is a MicroUSB cable. For the Hogsters/Yoters, it is a USB C cable. I start with the Phenom off, connect it to the scope and PC, and then turn it on. When you turn it on, you should hear the normal sound your PC makes when adding a mouse or other device, etc. It should ask you what you want to do with this device, and you would select Open Files. It will show as a drive on your computer.

If this is not happening, the most likely cause is the cable. There are some microUSB cables which are power only and some which are power/data. I don't know of a way to know which is which but hopefully you have some cables around. If using the one from Bering, it should have been a data/power cable.

Kirsch, I thought about the cable too, but figured he was probably using the one which came with the unit. If he is using a different cable it could be power only as you said, or just a bad cable that came with the unit. Maybe he will get it working shortly.

I don't know if this applies to the Phenom or not, but I'm using the Bering App on my iPhone for my Super Hogster and it works great. I'm not really good with computers either, and this has allowed me to download pics/videos to my phone with ease, and I've never had to hook my scope up to a computer.

Yes, the Bering App and even the infiRayOutdoors app do work well. For a Windows PC, connecting to it via a cable is the fastest as direct connection speeds are faster than WiFi. If you don't want to direct connect to a Windows PC, you can also use wireless to send it to the computer.

Windows PC:
1) Start Wireless on your Bering thermal.
2) Connect to the Bering wireless signal with the PC
3) Go to File Explorer
4) On the address line type: ftp:\\192.168.11.123
5) You will see the folders and under each folder (for each day) are the files recorded
6) Copy and paste the files to the area of your PC you wish for them to be saved
